Ok..I just got an ASUS G50VT-X1....
The only game I've played on it so far is NWN2. Here's my problem...
The game flies when actually in game and running around, casting, etc..
However.....the load times take forever....like 2-3 minutes. What's odd is it seem like the system stops working (meaning, the load bar at the bottom of the screen doesn't even move), then it will load the areas really fast (then bar fills up really quick). It's fully patched and I can't seem to find out why it's doing this.
It makes for a frustrating game as when you have an "encounter", the area maybe very small, but the load times to get into it and out of it take longer than the actual encounter.

It's basically normal. Load times are bad in NWN2, even if you have a great HDD. It wasn't really fixed with any of the patches as I recall.

    Thanks for the reply....
I actually think I improved it by updating the video driver to 180.70
It doesn't make much sense to me, as the "in game" play was very smooth and fast, it was just load times that seem to crawl.

Then with original driver 2-5 minute loads......
Now with 180.70, 15 to 30 sec loads....
