The 9.9 seems to give better preformance in games, I updated my wifes from 9.8 to 9.9.. The 9.8 got better 3dmark06 scores but that dont matter, 9.9 the games run really smooth and temps stay cool...

With 9.8 I got 225 more points in 3dmark06 and with 9.9 I get 4+ more frames in games like Crysis and COD 5 temps seem 2C less also.. For now I will keep 9.9 installed..

So will it give a better performance, even for a 4670 ?

    Cheers

I just tested them with the Far Cry 2 Benchmark, here are the results:

    Old Drivers:

    Run 1

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Settings: Demo(Ranch Small), 1600x900 (60Hz), D3D9, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(2x), VSync(No), Overall Quality(Custom), Vegetation(Very High), Shading(High), Terrain(Ultra High), Geometry(Very High), Post FX(High), Texture(Ultra High), Shadow(Medium), Ambient(High), Hdr(Yes), Bloom(Yes), Fire(Very High), Physics(Very High), RealTrees(Very High)
    Loop 1
Total Frames: 1247, Total Time: 51,03s
    Average Framerate: 24,44
    Max. Framerate: 35,46 (Frame:0, 0,03s)
    Min. Framerate: 15,26 (Frame:800, 31,86s)

    New Drivers:

    Run 1

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Settings: Demo(Ranch Small), 1600x900 (60Hz), D3D9, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(2x), VSync(No), Overall Quality(Custom), Vegetation(Very High), Shading(High), Terrain(Ultra High), Geometry(Very High), Post FX(High), Texture(Ultra High), Shadow(Medium), Ambient(High), Hdr(Yes), Bloom(Yes), Fire(Very High), Physics(Very High), RealTrees(Very High)
    Loop 1
Total Frames: 1265, Total Time: 51,02s
    Average Framerate: 24,79
    Max. Framerate: 35,63 (Frame:198, 6,40s)
    Min. Framerate: 17,80 (Frame:1002, 41,36s)

So there is almost No Speed increase at all.
But if you take a closer look you can see that the Min. Framerate is now 17.80 instead of 15,26. Which isnt too bad!

It works flawlessly on my ancient desktop. ^^!
Gains higher benchmark and FPS on real games.

To install the new drivers do I have to uninstall the CCC from the Vista Add/Remove programs and uninstall the driver in the Vista Device Manager? This is the first time I have updated video card drivers in Vista.

Okay, either RE5 loves the new drivers, or it loves W7, or it loves 64bit, because I'm getting a 6 fps difference (46 v/s 52) From Vista 32bit/9.8hotfix to W7 64bit/9.9

I'll have to update my Vista32 drivers later and check to see if that was the key.

I would also like to know this as well. I usually just install the new driver over the old one. =X

Reduced perfomance on SF4, so no good for me. Very noticable frame rate drop during benchmark.
