I do not think the upgrade is worthwhile to Windows XP users.

There rarely are any performance improvements, especially for mobility radeons. New versions usually only fix bugs and problems with previous drivers.

It gave me a "VPU Accelerator Error" after a few hours of use (during which the unit locked up). Catalyst 7.4 did the same thing. :(

I guess its back to 7.3................

Hopefully you didn't install Mobility Radeon driver, because it's the wrong one for ATi Radeon Xpress 200M. This is the correct one for Xpress 200M: http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/integrated-xp.html

It was 7.3 that i had the most problems with. It would crash as soon as i booted up and kept on crashing games too. Was awful, 7.5 seems ok on this now though

Unfortunately, the IGP/Motherboard Catalyst version you linked is the one I installed. I saw the X200M in the release notes, but both 7.4 and 7.5 will not run stable for whatever reason.

Strange that new driver version brings a fatal problem. Though, you may consider turning VPU recover off in the Catalyst Control Center, since it can cause problems (and that seems to be your case).
Quoted this from ATI Catalyst Tweak Guide @ http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_8.html
Also consider doing "the absolute clean" driver installation if you still come across problems. For this check the Old Catalyst Removal section in the ATI Catalyst Tweak Guide @ http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_3.html

But there's propably not much to gain by updating from 7.3 to 7.5 version, so you may just leave it as it is.

I ran this executable, installed, and it still shows that I am running CCC 7.2! Anyone experience the same thing?

I am an idiot and just realized that these are desktop drivers that need to be modified.

I installed 7.5 but it washed out my display a little bit and made the screen a little bit darker. CCC 7.4 runs great however.
