That is pretty much it!
PS: I signed up and I am just staring at the countdown... approximately 20 days 11 hours 3 minutes and 02 seconds

So, AW Quicksilver will be revealed there eh~
-
What's Quicksilver? -
.
-
something tells me this is going to be based on the M980NU...
-
-
-
-
-
Lets be realistic, despite the hype, what could be improvements be? if its a new chassic, then over M17, it probably have:
CPU>final gen of mobile C2Q @2.93?
Ram slots> 3 or 4?
HDD>2-3?
GPU>4870 GDDR5 X2?
LCD>RBG-LED screen?
Overclockability>OC button?
Input>multitouch trackpad?
Anything else? -
I predict announcement june 1st, first shipped july 1st, crossfire 4870 in a 18.4" proprietary chassis, maaaybe GDDR5, dual HDD, 2-3x DDR3 RAM.
-
So a more expensive/overpriced Asus w90?
-
-
-
I think it will have up to 12 or 16GB RAM, 2 HDD's (3 If you use the bay), extremely sure there will be an upgraded GPU
It has be over a year since the m15x and m17x were announced, so I think m15x upgrade is extremely iminent since the current version seems to be at its limits
I don't see major design changes... unless they are talking about a new mALX 18.4" SLI monster
MOBILE SKULLTRAIL <3 -
We need leaked photos :x
-
I expect 2 weeks before leaks come out... -
After the m980NU, W90 and d900F, I don't think it's going to be anything suprising, in fact, I think it'll probably be based on one of those three.
-
I'm thinking it'll be a Dell original, hyped as the successor to the m17x or M1730.
But then again, the M980NU already has the customizable light-up lid, so that it a strong possibility as well. I'll be disappointed if AW just goes with another rebrand. -
Alienware Air anybody? With SLI base? 0.25 inches thick? Ultra HD Display?
Uuugh... maybe the aliens did bring some space age tech into Dell!!!
Oh... now that I think of it... DELL has its new DELLA thing going on for women, and so... dell is the one shelling out on ads, so nevermind anything big going on... for now -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
I still think Sager will outclass the Alienware... for a while I was also enamored with Alienwares... but after I got past the lights and scullcap design (which I could probably make a cooler one myself) I realized that Sager or Asus (w90's is awesome) is where it's at... I think the quicksilver will be Alienwares attempt at contending in the race
-
dell is backing AW with the money and all the fact s point to 280's dell and aW are selling 8800m gtx and 9800m gt like candy so it seems they are clearing stock and the t9400 was dropped int he m17 so it points to montevina fo sho in the new one and the dropping of lower GPU's points to either 4870's and 280's
-
It's basically my p-6831FX (The first mainstream high end gaming laptop) revamped in 2009
AMAZING
But AW will definitely pack a punch soon... ESPECIALLY if they lower their prices a tiny bit, so it's like $2000 W90? or same performances more features for $2200? Exactly, pick the AW... -
as it was said on engadget:
So, a W90 $1000 more?
I'm actually betting it's based on the new, fat sager that's coming out. I can't remember what it's called... -
-
im so lucky i didnt buy my new laptop this month
on july the old AW will be soooooo cheap -
m15x? m17x? -
If M17 made gaming more affordable than M17x, I think the new system will have rise the price first, if its drastically new. If its just tiny refreshed laptop, price still will be at M17x mark I think.
They won't lower the price overnight. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
No they are only introducing one new laptop, not a new series... They will continue to sell their other laptops probably even more, The new one is just to compete in the highe end gaming sector... and I really hope it isn't an 18.4" If it's a 17" that can compare with the Sager 9280 then I'll pick it up
-
CPU... GAMING doesn't require that much CPU power... so technically you don't need their extreme step-ups
GPU... your buying the most powerful... helloooo
I think it will be a new platform, re-vamped design, more useless/useful features etc... -
what im saying it that the old AW will drop their prices
-
If you want a cheap gaming laptops get a Gateway P-XXXX FX -
ik but some ppl will buy this ones and sell their old AW cheap
-
If It's "all powerful", then I guess it'll have desktop CPU and 2 video cards........
-
lol not just yet and check out the AW section for our thread about it
due to AW startng to use t9550 cpus were pretty sure montevina and 280 sli other wise .. it would just be normal ...... -

I should be getting some hands-on with whatever this is at the E3 Expo.
-
its definitely not Core i7... only the Clevo D900F gets that honor.
its probably going to be a
- Montevina platform
- DDR3
- dual videocards (ATI 4870 or Nvidia GTX 280M)
- ALX denotes that it will probably larger than 17"... probably 18.4"
The main question that I will be inquiring about will be:
"Who is their ODM?"
Hopefully they wont make the same mistake and go with Quanta again... not that Quanta is bad, but they are not experienced in designing/making high-end notebooks as well as some other ODMs.
I am hoping AW got smart and continued to go with Arima (like in the past with the M9700/M9750) to get an exclusive model through them.
Or they might even go back to Clevo to re-brand their upcoming beast:
- Clevo M980NU ...... 18.4" with mobile quad-core CPU and dual Nvidia GTX 280M (in SLI) -
like i said before in AW section all of that is what i think as well
50/50 chance dell backed this system and had it specially designed to market since there going to stop selling the m1730 soon
dell is now going to be useing the AW name as its little kid ..... they are going to banking on it
or the rebranded which would not be as cool but it would be the first one with it out -
If they go with Armina, it will have dual 4870s, and the videocards will never come out for the M17.
That's also plausible. -
no no no ... Arima is still banking on the Whitebook
Flex is still working on the m17 thats directly from a reseller -
To me, I think it's going to be a redesigned Dell m1730 from the ground up with an Alien head and name on it. I'd be fine with that as long as it will be reasonably priced.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yeah that'd be nice, I really liked the M1730 besides the aesthetics... I just couldn't get past how it tried to be a flashy gaming laptop and it ended up looking like a lightbox
-
. And it's a very solid system. Its cooling works like magic!
-
well....im thinking AW is about to come with this ati chip....
-
LMAO i LOL'd
-
lol
-
Oh I thought we were talking bout this. -
I hope it is:
Aluminium construction 15" with a thin chassis (16:10 I know is a long shot...)
ATI HD 4860 GDDR5 GFX standard
Quad Core capable
Slot load drive
Backlit Keyboard
etc. -
This will be the top of the line highend laptop... so definitely 17 or 18.4
I do think they should make a smaller sibling
