The older EA dowloader was great. No annoying adds, faster and more efficient. Yesterday I downloaded NFS Carbon, a whopping 4 GB! On a 512KB ADSL connection, that took me almost 20 hours.

I got back from work and was so exited to try it out. I clicked "install" and went to get into something more comfortable. After 15 minutes, the installation process was at 3/3 60%. Then I got a message that the download was corrupt and it had to download again. I was back to square one, a joystick in my hand with no game to play! I was so frustrated. My poor Toshiba is still downloading at home. I hope I don't run into the same problem again today.

Anyone has any ideas/been through the same thing?

I've decided to no longer buy EA products because of stuff like this. But the spyware thing is most of my reasons :p

I stopped messing with the EA site awhile ago.

I tried to download NFS carbon demo from Gamespot. They limit their download so badly ...It was 70kb or less.

I finally decided to download it VIA Torrent ..thru ISOHUNT.

Now I torrent download most huge Demos

PS ....NFS sucks to me. Atleast the demo does.

How can you get it through Torrent? I already bought it through EA downloader, would I be able to get the key from there and enter it from the torrent download?

I was talking about the demo versions.

But if you already have your key, I don't see why downloading the full version VIA torrent wouldn't work.

It's works with software, so it should work with games. IMO tho.

I would be PISSED if they limited download bandwith on a PURCHASE. Thats a big NO-NO

EA has such horrid quality control, and programming... they just buy licenses from other game companies or sports teams, etc. and build crap. Generals was a fun game, but they completely screwed up the network code on it. All kinds of bad things. I have no respect for EA, and will go out of my way to not buy games they make.
