So you bought a 7970m or a 680m GPU powered laptop. Now what, how to take it to the next level! easy buy a BIG monitor or Great TV.
I made this thread for the 47lm6200 and its cousins, this TV recently (today) had an update.
2d image quality is as sharp as it gets with the new activated super resolution toggle. sharpening an already sharp 1080p image.
Trumotion can now be turned off to allow for FR3d algorithm, meaning true 3d with all 2d content minus popout, which I think is a worlds first unless you count those converter boxes, the conversion is so far ahead of the game its just incred.
Your old 65x80p videos now look like 720p and 720p looks like 1080p with the newly activated controls for image rendering.
passive 3d used to be half 1080p period. today LGs line does full 1080p 3d matching active shutter sharpness, but trumping active in brightness and contrast.
Once people wake up and find out about this upgrade when they boot their tvs it will be all over the web, the improvement is night and day, turning a top 10 tv into a top 3 tv only samsungs plasmas can compete on a 2d level.
response times are so low their is 0 input lag now. moves as fast as you do.
I bought the 47lm6200 a month ago and was happy about it, showed it off to a few friends, they were impressed. Now my gripes were youtube looked blocky at 1080p and 3d world was blurry as heck and the 2d to 3d was nearly impossible to tell if it was actually 3d, andd smoothness was not so good in laymans terms. Now everything is perfect crystal clear and conversion is mind blowing, I thought this type of thing was impossible literally. it costs 1300 but will last you years and is well worth the price as the ultimate TV/monitor for your new setup. best of the best at a good price.
I just got the update about 1 hour ago and im still mind blown, I watched Ice Age in 1080p with conversion on and thought it was sharper than 1080p in 3d and was original 3d content. It is simply that good now. All the 3d world channels are crystal clear. low resolution clips are upscaled and doctored so much they have no signs of blocking or blocky ness. they look a tad blurry of course but very smooth looking and 1000 times better than the original.
so now think about this.
for 1300 you can have a 47inch monitor that will play every game in 3d at no performance cost meaning 60fps in 3d for 99 percent of all games. and you get one of the worlds best tvs on top of it(excluding the OLEDS) but I have yet to see a 3d OLED or any oled for that matter in the market, and I heard they will be priced fairly steep.
Anyways I made this thread to HIghly reccomend this TV for 2d and if 3d is your thing this tv cannot be beat.
ps.
does anyone know of other TVS that are worth their price?

I've had this projector for years and this thing keeps going like an Energizer bunner. Haven't had to replace the lamp and I use it daily for running games or watching blu-rays, Netflix etc., sometimes even just when surfing the web or running video editing or image editing apps on my laptop.
My projection screen extends to around 96" x 170" and some well mastered blu-rays have looked better at home in the screening room than when I saw them in the theater. Games with epic environments like Skyrim are breathtaking at 1080p. Thinking about upgrading to a 4k projector, but I'm really happy with this one and it was quite inexpensive.
New GPUs are out! now what, time for a TV check this one out!
