Personally Im a hugeeee bf2 fan so this is going to be a biased opinion, but I say buy BF2142

 

Hmm, im leaning towards that because I just got my last two unlocks in BF2 and theres nothing really to work towards.

BF2142 looks good, but, hmm, i dunno.

I bought HL2 instead, i've never played it before anyways.

 

Lol. good buy! loved HL2. and it still looks amazing for such an old game. Anyway, i refuse to buy 2142 because EA is evil. i mean come on? Putting spyware in the game? ****ING ADVERTISEMENTS? O and lets not forget the countless bugs.

 

hehe, I was having lots of second thoughts when I picked up BF2142 at the store.

I remembered all the bugs and it ran pretty crappy, on the other hand BF2 runs much better.

 

counter-strike source is also really great, its only 20$ on steam for the game by itself

You should consider prey. I think it is a pretty good game, and you'll be able to run it maxed out, which will look real pretty.

 

I just played some HL2 singer player, and ****, its awesome...

right now, im in the underground sewage pipes trying to leave the city


and, btw, it runs maxed out with HDR and 2x AA and 2x AF.

 

Did you try that mod? It makes things look 10 times better... It also adds HDR =-O

why did it (the mod) make that black guy look purple?

but most of the people do look much better, and everything looks much dirtier (in a good detailed way)

you don't buy guns, you pick them up

HL deathmatch AFAIK doesn't have the buy system like in CS but i haven't played DM for a long time

 

Yeah, I loved HL2, I can run it at 1280x800 with all settings at high, no HDR, and 4xAF. None of that color correction or anything like that. Come to think of it, I never beat HL2 yet. Is the Cinematic MOD more graphics intensive?

i'd recommend going to Best Buy, and getting Company of Heroes, and Civilization IV, both for $40. (they are selling them $20 ea), and if you have $10 extra to spare (a grand total of $60.. from $50 of BF2142), get those 2 and Starcraft Battle Chest.

I'm really hoping Armed Assault becomes a multiplayer hit in the US when its released. I was a huge OFP fan.
