    I didn't realize that was new? Don't alot of thinkpad 14' and 15' models use that?

    This is not new at all. The article is in fact from considerably earlier in the year and the product appears to have been announced on the 10th of January 2010.

    Intel graphics GMA5700MHD has therefore been out for quite a while in tech terms and is certainly not new perse.

    ah, well what do you think about it? It smashes the low tier Nvidia and ATI cards (radeon mobility 4200, GT9300M etc)

    Nope, this is the bottom of the bottom (of the current generation). Any card from AMD or nVidia will soundly defeat Intel's card, even the lowest tier (integrated graphics cards from those companies).

    Sandy Bridge updates the GPU with lower manufacturing process and will also have two dies.
