New Laptop For Me!! Need Game Suggestions Pls

so i got this asus laptop from best buy, i actually just ordered it. and i want to find some new eye candy games that i could possibly run on it. its got a 9800gs in it and its quite a step up from my x1900. i think the first game im gonna get is fear 2 cause i was watching some videos on it and it looks very good. but anyways any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

 

Ever heard of Crysis and Crysis warhead? lol

 

I'd suggest Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. Trust me, they'll never get old!

well im gonna go to the haji shop here in a few days to try and find a copy of fear 2. and i know that dude has cyrsis. oh btw and fyi im in the sandbox right now so im kinda limited to what i can download as far as patches and mods and what not. any other shooters that u guys suggest. i will defnitely look into fear 2 and crysis. i have farcry 2 btw. runs pretty good on my x1900 but i want to crank the settings up.

 

oh sorry i got cod 4 and i love it. cod 5 pretty good?

 

If you have Cod4, there really is no point in cod5, same exact thing except in WWII

 

CoD5's gameplay is like CoD4's with missing features. Except the flamethrower is nice, but CoD4 in general is the superior game.

FEAR 2 is pretty fun, not great, but a nice timewaster.

And I would be remiss if I didn't recommend Mass Effect to EVERYONE EVER. Easily one of my favorite games of all time at this point. The past year has consisted of beating Mass Effect, beating another game, then beating Mass Effect, then another game, and this cycle has gone on through CoD4, CoD5, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, and Assassin's Creed at least.

 

All of the Brothers In Arms series. You may have a new powerful laptop but don't forget about the older games, because there are some really great ones.

 

I enjoy the older ones more than the new ones!

 

Dead Space. It's an awesome game, and it will run like a dream (50+ fps) on your 9800M GS.

well i havent gotten my laptop yet but i did get Fear 2 and for some odd reason it runs really well on my old laptop. i just cant even imagine how well it will run when my new one gets here. but i also got dead space but im kinda scared to try and install it. anyone else have that asus laptop they sell at best buy? any comments or concerns i should have. thanks in advance

Anyways, I'd suggest not buying anything pc games from the haji shop. I bought a few the other day and the first one I installed had a virus on it, so I thew it and the others away (they were only $2 so I wasn't too surprised).

 

r u serious? a virus? thats pretty messed up. but the fear 2 copy i got from haji was like a real version of the game, i dunno pretty high quality stuff that i find. im on camp liberty, im in first cav DSTB. where r u at man? im gonna laugh my @$$ off if i know u. LOL but anyways HOLLA

 

The only games around here are the burned/cracked versions of the games.

oh well i dont really know where that is man but im sorry u have crappy living conditions. but hey happy easter right? hope u got to call home to ur family man. and if u didnt then u need to get on a DSN line and call them asap.

 

oh and how is the 9800gtx? is it much faster than the 9800 gs? ive been out of the game for about a year so i have no clue what is going on.

 

the gtx scored about 2000 more on the 3dmark 06 and has 58 more shaders. A substantial upgrade imo.
