    Hello.

Recently I just received a Lenovo T61 (after deciding against Dell.)

    Here are the specs:

    Lenovo T61 15.4"
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 @ 2.00 GHz
    Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2
    DirectX 9.0c
NVidia Quadro NVS 140m (512 MB)
    Forceware Version 101.33

Now, I started installing a few games on it today (OK, BVE 2 and 4 to be exact) and, when exiting from the latter, I get a BSOD. I note the particular file which was causing trouble; when checking later, I find out it is a very infamous culprit: "NV4_DISP.DLL"; note that the file version is 6.14.11.0133

I find a couple of places (here included) which give instructions for dealing with this problem, but I am very hesitant to try and fix this on my own since some of the instructions tend to differ (especially when it comes to the particular mobile GFX card and depending on whether one should have an operating system disk (which I don't) and the latest or most appropriate (stock) driver version to replace it. Not to mention having to find a site that has a driver cleaner.)

I tried taking this to a nearby computer repair shop (indie), but he wasn't particularly helpful (he neither knew of this problem when I explained it to him nor was willing to deal with it himself - he said that it is "easy" to replace the driver.)

Should replacing this driver be something I should do on my own (and if so, how should I do it without turning my laptop into an oversize and very expensive brick), or should I try going to another repair store?

    Update:

I was able to find, on Laptop2Go, that there is a new driver that Lenovo just released this past November - Forceware version 156.83. I installed this version (but, just in case, went straight to Lenovo's website and downloaded the one that is currently offers, version 154.xx) and it did the trick.
