Finally, maybe I will be able to play The Witcher 3 without dropping below 30 FPS on low settings with GTX 870M but I am not eager to try it right away, I'll wait for people's feedback first.

Thank you for tagging me to ask. I checked early this morning and it must have been prior to the release of it because 353.00 was the newest.

I'm about to find out. I hope and pray I can finally run something newer on my 780M SLI than 345.20 without it throttling like a big dog. I will let you know as soon as I find out.

These drivers mention support for G-Sync. Can anyone with a qualifying laptop(Asus G751JT/JY only for the moment) confirm if this works?

    Finally! DSR for notebooks.

    Installing now

It isn't saying that the G-Sync is for notebooks.

Another hot, steamy, deep-dish colon loaf. I should have known better than to be optimistic. Worthless piece of crap driver. Back to 345.20... AGAIN.

Overclocked or stock 880ms? Because just looking at Mr. Fox's recent post, overclocked kelper looks pretty... horrible.
Wait, @Mr. Fox, does it only affect 3DMark like the last couple of drivers (EDIT: It would be kind of selfish to expect an answer in the next minute. Take your time)?

Why don't you try the driver first? Just because it throttles for Mr. Fox doesn't mean it'll throttle for you. The Project CARS and Witcher 3 performance improvements for Kepler seem well worth it.

It's affecting gaming performance, or just 3DMark?

Witcher 3 is still running amazingly for me, no performance loss.

Also keep in mind that Mr. Fox is a benchmarker first and foremost. I may be wrong, but I have not seen him report throttling in actual games, just 3DMark. So unless you also play 3DMark, I don't see what is the harm of trying this driver.

i don't see issues though that's possibly due to:

    - me having a single GPU set up
    - not being able to discern what's considered as throttling

I don't know, and absolutely do not care. I am a benchmark/overclocker first, gamer second. If it does this in benchmarks with stock clock the driver is utterly worthless. Back on 345.20 and it works flawless stock and overclocked. Time for another nasty tweet.

Out of curiosity have you flashed a stock 780M vbios to make sure that they haven't introduced something that conflicts with the mod?

I know the stock vbios isn't something that you will run but it could at least help figure out what broke.

im a bit dissapointed.Expect way bigger gain in witcher 3 and ended gaining 10-15%.850M which is little slower than my 760M OC(+346/750Mhz) can play witcher 3 on some medium setting with 30fps and i cant achieve same performance :(.What surprised me is that i gained 10% in Far cry 4 :) but i dont know why witcher 3 is so slow.Im still around 30-35% behind the 850M performance.Maybe cdpr fault?all other games are same for me

EDIT:i saw on geforce forum guys with kepler desktop cards reporting the same as me.They also expect way bigger gain than 10-15% so im not alone.Maybe its time for AMD

yea that extra 15 percent can really make the difference though between choppy and smooth with hairworks, especially when you are in the 50 to 45 fps range on ultra on scenes with lots going on, can bump it up to 55 it becomes extremely playable

I have been telling all of you with Kepler that you're not going to see the performance increases that you want. The game is optimized for the Maxwell architecture. Maxwell is more than just a few "efficiency" tweaks - it has a brand new tessellation engine (GM204 and GM200 only), better memory management, texture compression, etc.

Hopefully nvidia will still be selling titan x on their website still on the 22nd of next month. I really don't want to mix different brands of cards if I can avoid it.

yeah but why amd 7XXX cards which were released 2011 run this game really well and outperform similar kepler gpu's with a big margin?and amd is worse in tesselation than nvidia especially that old cards from 2011

Maxwell's improved tessellation engine can't be it because GCN cards are worse than Kepler in that regard but still outperform them in TW3

    Edit: oops ninja'ed

As for memory bandwidth, sure Maxwell is a bit more efficient but a 128-bit GM206 or 256-bit GM204 still shouldn't outperform a much bigger 384-bit GK110.

Did a clean install of the new drivers on my G751JY but can't see any mention of G-Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel. Using the latest bios release so probably needs something else to activate it. Know that with older drivers the screen refresh rate went from default 60Hz to 75Hz before Nvidia fixed it.

Ok fine it doesn't outperform a 780 (at least not stock vs stock), but coming within 10% of it while being more than 20% behind in other games? Yeah something's up.

Not large enough? 960 is supposed to be slower than 770, not faster than 780. From the end of the review:
