New Nvidia Beta Driver 320.49

Anyone want to start testing this new beta driver? Its suppose to address all the bugs in 320.18. I might mod the INF and install on my 780m if i can figure out how to do it.

update: Looks like the page is up but the driver download hasnt been uploaded yet, many other sites out there have it available to download.

 

As long as it doesn't break the mxm port, it should be ok...hoping.

sort off but his download links werent loaded on that nvidia page so thearetically i win by default

The only reason I found them quick is because I'm desperate for good working drivers for my 780m, since nvidia doesn't support the card Lol. First thing I do at work every morning ,refresh nvidia drivers page

 

you do exactly the same as me then but ive had an emergeny for last 3 hours so missed them.

i need to get my prioritys right. drivers first and patients a close second

dont forget though as these are beta drivers theres no gaurantee they will be better than the OEM driver supplied and can even be worse.

 

How do I mod the inf to get these working on my 780m? The 318.20 drivers always crash for me

 

No issues with it so far.

 

the 318.20 were not 7** ready but these are so they should work.

 

Awesome, can't wait to try these at home, crysis 3 crashed the most for me and is the best stress test for these new drivers

 

I notice an increase in heat, I was maxed 78C (135+ Mhz and 500 mem OC) now I am hitting 84C.

 

That could be because of higher gpu utilization with this driver.
Does it appear faster?

I was playing WItcher 2, I didn't any increase or change. More testing need to be done.

 

report on clevo thread that drop in 3dmark11 from 7280 to 6708

 

From what I have seen in the past, a drop in 3dmark score always meant better gaming performance in the driver world Lol

 

This was my score. But now rectified. Now get 7752 with latest drivers.

im going to wait for the next whql as not gaming much lately and i dont think i need many more fps for candy crush on facebook

 

After further benchmarking using Witcher 2 all maxed + Ubersampling I saw improvements on temperature ( 1-3C less), better fps. I am running on 780 SLI 50+fps

 

Hmmm maybe i'll give it a few days to see more results, these 311.48 drivers seem alright for my 780m, but they're not official drivers.

 

they are sure sounding better than the last crap whql which has had reports of frying older cards.

 

What the process of installing this new driver? Did you guy just install over the old one or you guy did a clean install?

Getting an error saiding "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" how do I fix this?

 

Awesome... the release notes listed on the download page for these drivers are for 320.14... way to derp Nvidia.

Wont let me install on my GE60 with a 765M

 

Razer Blade owners have the same problem. Maybe 765M is not supported.

 

Same thing on Asus G750.

 

I had to mod the .inf.

Clevo was the only .inf with the GTX 780M/770M/765M included. Acer is the only with the 760M.

 

can someone mod and link the inf file for this driver for me on my m17x r4 and 780m? I would greatly appreciate it!

You should try v. 325 from windows updafe cab file.

 

These drivers don't work for me, after I install and boot to desktop my screen just flashes black on and off, back to 320.18 which sucks

 

This happened on my first reboot I just shut it down and turned it back on and it's been fine since. For the record everything was fine after install, I just like to reboot after a driver install even though nvidia's installer doesn't force the issue.

 

No matter what I got the blank screen flashing issue, even after several reboots

 

I just hope that ~3 weeks from now when I get my P375SM there are working drivers. I think that's what's keeping back the 120Hz/3D combo that I want; no official drivers means no testing.

 

This is all a mess, only 320.18 works for me, what hasn't nvidia included support for the MSI or dell 780m?

 

Yeah it would be nice if there were official drivers, i mean the 780m and haswell have only been out for almost a month now...............

 

When I first got my laptop last year in June they still hadn't got any official support in the drivers for the 650M even though it had been out in the wild for several months already. Unfortunately you may have to wait a while.

 

best bet if you are getting a new machine is to stick with OEM drivers which will be loaded and tested.
if you buy without operating system then the OEM driver will be on the supplied driver disc.

 

I wouldn't say this for enthusiasts that join these forums. Most OEM don't update fast enough to take advantage of huge performance increases for new game titles.

 

well they have two options then hfm
update as soon as a driver becomes available and take their chances or stick with the oem release for a good while which was tested on their machine and works without any problems.
totally agree with you on slow oem releases though

on my m860tu i updated on every driver release and had no problems for 5 years. best of the bunch by far was 186.81
my new lappy below i updated on the next available whql and had lots of problems. attempted to roll back but no matter what i tried it kept failing. even the manual safe mode didnt work.
only option was a system restore.
in the last 6 months ive seen nothing but problems reported with the drivers. works for some but not others with exactly the same machine.

 

I'm confused as to why Nvidia hasn't released a official driver for the 780m yet. I thought I remembered Nvidia fan boys going on about how awesome their driver support was compared to AMD. I've had this laptop almost a month and still no driver updates? The only driver I could find on their website using the search was beta 320.49. I had a 7970m in my old GX660R and it worked with any AMD driver I threw at it, and never had any issues.

Not saying the stock OEM driver hasn't been fine, I just expected it was an immature driver and was hoping for quicker driver releases to see if we gain more performance.

So, just got a notification through Geforce Experience to update my drivers to the 320.49 WHQL today... guess these are finally out of beta? Also, it does appear they support the 780m. So far working fine on my 660m.

 

the new WHQL is STILL not compatible with 765m on msi ge60

 

so for the MSI GTX 780M , do u just copy over the Clevo 780M entries into the msi inf file and then adjust for MSI hw id?

 

The driver issues could be tied with the delay of Nvidia shield. I just looked on the Nvidia experience program and it had a minimum requirement for the 320.49 drivers. They could be trying to get that all ironed out before the launch. Just a thought.
