yea..lol..i think its so that ppl who have both the xbox 360 and the PC and play on both dont need to buy a whole new controller for the PC if they are already comfortable with the Xbox 360 controller

I have a 360 already.. why go out and buy 4 pc controllers when the 360 controllers work on my pc? People need to start thinking of things the OTHER way around ;)

Plus, I am use to the 360 controllers. Pc controllers that my friend has feel cheap.

    Interesting, thanks for posting Luck.
I can see what Microsoft is trying to do here with the compatability, but I'm not sure I like it . . .

BTW - let's try to avoid a pc vs. console war.

I know most people will disagree, but I like using a controller better. The whole mouse/keyboard thing just doesn't feel comfortable yet as I grew up on consoles and have yet to really get into PC gaming, but maybe that's just me. The other thing that can get some PC gamers... lag. Games designed for consoles are designed to run as well as possible on those consoles. And a round of Slayer in Blood Gulch could turn disasterous for a PC gamer if his computer suddenly decides to start processing something else.

yes..but then again...a console is not a computer, now is it?

LuckMC11, that brings up an interesting point...from what I've read, the new Sony PS3 will run a Linux based OS capable of carrying out most tasks that a normal PC is used for; browsing the net, listening to music, watching movies etc. Since it's running the Cell processor it should make light work of most tasks...it'll be interesting to see how Sony market it, and what peripherals will be made available.

thanks...yea..i heard about Sony running Linux based OS also...that'd be pretty cool actually...if they advertised that it could do that...so it could "kind of" compensate for the $500 and $600 pricetags..lol

Yeah that would make the purchase of the PS3 much more worth it. Maybe the will make a keyboard too. :p

ya-know if you think about it thats not a bad price.. I mean look at the price of just a high end graphics card like a 7900gtx. Just the card will cost you close to $500. I know the ps3 is not going to have the power of a 7900gtx but you can be sure that it will play just about every game that comes out for the next 5 or so years. I would be nice if you could get a laptop version of the ps3 with a 17" screen.

This may be true. IBM (along with Toshiba) developed the Cell processor and since they support Linux OS too, it's only logical to use a Linux based OS on the system. I see the logic behind this.

Oh yes, I read that article! Nothing beats a mouse interface as far as FPSes are concerned.

It will be interesting to see how FPS's interface will pan out on the Wii.
