New ati Catalyst 6.8

Ok, something is wrong with these drivers. With OCed X1600 (510/510) I got...3400 in 05?!?! WTF?!?! With Omega's 6.7 I got 1000 more @ stock!!! Will check with 06 but I'm sure result will be the same.

As I predicted the score in 06 is also low - 2000. Can someone else check this drivers?

 

did you notice if there actually was an improvement in doom3/quake 4?

i noticed a 5-10 fps increase in oblivion

 

5-10 frames in Oblivion?! That's huge!!! I guess it's something wrong with my system. But what?!

 

I have tried updating from 6.7 to 6.8 but everytime the install finishes I check the version and I get a 6.7. I tried uninstalling again and using Driver Cleaner Pro, but I always get a 6.7 version, although I am downloading it from a 6.8 setup?!

 

Is there any improvement over the omega driver 6.7?

Have the same, installator cound not find some files but when I manually searched for it the file was where it should be, just have to select it. Try, maybe this helps.

I believe the update had a major fix improvment to the way video memory is handled, it says it in the change list.

I also opted not install Catalyst Control Center and used ATI Tools and set everthing to performance as well as creating a game profile for oblivion to enabled tripple buffering.

I also set my flip que size to 3.

 

Hmm, I must figure it out. Maybe I will be able to brake 5k in 05, 2,5k in 06 is enough

 

Yeah, the updated also said that 3dmark scores would be improved with the X1000 series of cards.

I also noticed now, bf2 is running at higher fps.

 

Ok, don't know why but I can't get over 3500 marks in 05, something is wrong but I'm tired of installing and reinstalling drivers, going back to Omega 6.7.

 

i have downloaded the catalyst drivers from the link in the sticky thread but after install it says to me in the ati control center that i have version 6.7 whats wrong

 

if u go to the link it says all the X1000 cards are supported except the X1400 isnt there! should i update anyway???anyone else update to the 6.8 with a X1400?

yeah i used that link but ati control center says i have version 6.7installed instead of 6.8

 

Using the 6.8's now, glad they installed on my e1505.

FEAR seems a lot smoother now, and this driver set downclocks much better on battery than the Omega's.

 

Yeah I have the same problem would anyone plz check if they installed the 6.8 and get a 6.7 version after installation?

Wow, a solid 5-8FPS overall improvement in Oblivion, I'm really happy with this patch.

 

The new drivers did not work good with me, Titan Quest crashes to desktop after couple of secs, and FEAR lags while playing

 

If Catalyst 6.8 add 5-8 fps in Oblivion than Omegas 6.8 should add even more, 7-10? Have to wait.

While this update did increase my 3dmark05 score by about 150, I am noticing glichy images in games.

Any idea why?

Using a E1505 x1400.

 

meh, in bf2 sometimes my gun sights turn black and I cant use them.

But I had the same issue in Cat 3.7.

 

This is a great driver guys.
performancewise equal to omega and yet it reduces my background noise (compare to omega)

X1600 user will be very happy with this.

Better than Omega's 6.7, and that's quite impresive. Omega 6.8 should be a killer.

 

can somebody who installed version 6.8 look in its ati control center what version that its says you have .
i find it hard to believe that there s a typo in such an inportant part of the driver

wow thats a huge improvement, that and 6.7 just came out not too long ago. Ill give it a whirl and see what I get.

 

i do feel that fear runs a little smoother, hopefully 3-5 fps faster. But my hitman blood money still runs like crap

 

will these work with the x1400??, because the older versions were in compatible, and i had to use omega

 

normaly they work for all X1xx graphic cards so yours shouldnt be a problem .but you need to download them from the direct download link (in the sticky thread )

 

and are these better than the new omega ones?

the omega tries to take more advantage of your card while the official version is more stable.

 

They work perfect with a Dell X1400

And they run my games faster than the current Omegas, but I also can't wait for the Omega 6.8's
