Hi this is my first post here on the forum.

This is actually a copy paste from "Intel9x Gaming" newsgroup but I need a broader audience and some help so I have decided to post it here.

So new drivers for Intel 4 Series are out. You can get them here
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProductID=2377...

With a moded inf file you can isntall them on GMA 950

I didn't read the changelog (is there any?) - I have just compared the files (briefly)
and some dlls are bigger and have a new date on them.

They are described as 15.11.0.1537 on intels page. After my quick and
dirty inf file mod they have 15.10.1537 description on my system -
maybe I have ommited something in the inf file - don't know (older
    version was 7.15.10.1518)

Unluckily the original thread on Intels Blog (where it all started) is closed for comments ( http://blogs.intel.com/technology/2007/08/gaming_on_integrated_graphics.php) so I don't know how to contact Mr.
Rabbit who will propably know if/how the new drivers can be moded.
Does anyone know him from other forums?

    Credit goes to Mr. Rabbit

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU MAY DO TO YOURSELF, YOU
HARDWARE, OR YOU FAMILY BY INSTALLING THOSE DRIVERS.

This is for VISTA 32 only - i don't have other OSes to try this out.
I'm no expert so it might not work for you so do a system backup
    before trying this out.

Download the new drivers, extract them (with 7-zip f.E.), go to "Graphics" folder, and find a file named igdlh.inf Delete it and download the file i have attached in this post. Extract it to "Graphics" folder.

Go up one folder and run setup.exe

After the instalation, reboot and do the following:

Open Start-->Run - type regedit - registry editor will open. Now
    navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class
\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000 - you will see different
file names (~hl2.exe, ~3dmark2005.exe etc) on the right side of the
window. Now right-click somewhere on the empty space and choose New--
    >Dword Value and name it lik the executable for your problem game (for
me it was COD 2 demo - so it was named cod2sp_s.exe but with a tilda
sign before it (~cod2sp_s.exe in my case). When you have add the value
double click it and set it to 1 instead of default 0. Close the
registry editor and try to run the game.

With the registry mod I can run COD2 demo now, I couldn't do it with previosu drivers.

COD4 doesn't work (but it spits out a different error now - without registry mod it was smth about "ubn4y" missing - now its "create2dtexture" error - according to some forums it is coused by missing S3TC compression. There is a setting for forcing S3TC in GMA 950 driver but its for OpenGL - I don't now if its automaticly on for D3D or if GMA 950 is S3TC capable at all.

Try it out in different games and please let me know if it works for you.
