Finally HP has put together a decent gaming machine in one of their consumer-line notebooks. The dv8000t customizable notebook now incorporates a GeForce Go 7600 in the standard configuration. Got one on the way and I can't wait to see how much better it's going to perform than the Go 7400 it's replacing![]()

I'm confused, if you're going to get a 17" notebook for high-end gaming why not get a Sager or Dell e1705 with a 7900!?!?

Well, my dv8280us is being replaced with the Go 7600 model dv8000t as a courtesy by HP...so it's not costing me anything. My dv8280 was a replacement of a lemon Compaq that had an x700 in it and since going to a 7400 was a "down-grade", HP agreed to remedy it by upgrading me to the Go 7600 model dv8000t.

I can understand that people buy a HP Pavilion 17". I have seen it, and its great! Full keyboard with numpad, good screen, great design...good ports. It has everything. Now packed with a Core Duo and a Go7600 this thing is great!
Thanks for letting us know.

That's very nice of HP. I am very pleased to see them offering a decent video card in their notebooks; the Go7600 is far faster than the Go7400. You'll at least be able to play a good amount of games at native resolution.
