    Hello,

I am sorry if this topic is to be discussed on this section, but I could not find a more appropriate forum to cater for this topic.

Can someone please tell me the next major gaming event, that will showcase the newest technology for 2019?

CES 2019, especially the Nvidia booth January 6th. May see some max Q variants of the 2060 and 2070 for laptops, which isn’t anything exciting at all

Maybe for you I’m more interested in the 2060/2070 laptops than the higher end GPU’s.

CES 2019 as noted is the closest. Check our front page late this week/next week, I'll be covering the latest PC news for NBR.

Midway through the year there's Computex Taipei (May 28-June 1).

CeBIT is no more, this past year was the last one (2018).

I liked the regular ATX form factor PSUs with dual redundant smaller PSUs inside. I was very tired of having to deal with rack-only desktops.

Several manufacturers showed off refreshes for laptops/desktop cases and many more. I thought the Asus Mothership was interesting. It seems more vendors are going for thin bezels around the screen for major notebook models. Dell/alienware came out with a big bulky laptop with desktop CPU again despite saying they wouldn't haha :p

AMD Dropped their Radeon VII GPU, shattering the wallets and dreams of everyone expecting more performance at lower prices. Ryzen 3 is shaping up to be a good product.

All laptops will refresh to RTX GPUs, delivering the exact same performance we already have but with a new name :p :p

didn't check Smarphones. Oh yeah, foldable OLEDs, also more Transparent prototypes I think. I really want an OLED HDR TV but they are so expensive. I already spend so much on my laptop, that its hard for me to essentially spend twice the same ammount but on a TV, when I have a perfectly good TV hahaha.

Personally, I saw a lot of good stuff especially for the gaming laptop segment :) The new DELL G series of laptops are getting refreshed with thinner and bezels and 144HZ display options :D The new AW M17 and the refreshed M15. I am intrigued by both the ASUS ROG Mothership and the Alienware Area 51M. New RTX 20 series GPUs for laptops, here's hoping to either pick one up or get a good deal on a GTX 10 Series one. :)

Speaking of foldable displays, there is one that could actually roll itself down when not in use, LG I believe. When I first saw it, I was like... HOW?! :O
There is also a foldable phone... :3 xD Yeah.. I immediately knew, that Yep.. I could never afford those xD lol

Definitely recommended. These types of events can be super exciting when you get to try new tech. I remember when I first tried the HTC Vive, I didn't even knew what it was, and barely knew about Occulus. It blew me away.

Any advancements in VR? Didn't Occulos file for bankruptcy?

Isn't Oculus directly owned by Facebook? It would be weird to bankrupt when you have such a huge support behind you.

VR needs to get cheaper, last advancement I saw was within the cheapo VR heatsets. Once the "cheap" VRs become cheap enough with high quality like current Vive, the tech has a chance. For the time being, I think this will be for the long haul.

I was thinking one of them filed for bankruptcy. My son wants it but I am still on the fence as the price is just too damn high... IMO

Well at least its supposed to be like 300dlrs now right? Way cheaper than when I got the vive at launch for 800dlrs, boy was that an investment...

Not even deep sales, you are going to downright get exciting new tech and several improvement. I love VR and I believe it has a good future, but the current price to entry is too high and perhaps "too complex" for some people. With all the required accesories etc.

Not to mention how computational expensive it is to run high end VR. It truly is something else and I hope that in a year more, we get affordable high end VR systems. I believe even consoles might pursue this next generation.

I hope you're right! I think consoles, if they could pull it off, would be a great way to get VR more mainstream.
