I bought this video game because I initially thought it would accurately model many European cities so I could get a good virtual drive thru Paris or so. I’ve done 4 truck driving jobs in the game and I didn’t get many nice scenic views of my Paris route… No Eiffel Tower or Champs Elysee on the route. But the graphics and controls are GREAT! Good viewing options, especially in driver view and outside 3rd person view. Now if this game was only controlled by a keyboard it would totally suck… Like the SBK motorcycle game – only keyboard controls, really hurt this game.

You can buy it from these two places:
Download Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Origin
Gametap Shop - Download your PC Games
It’s not on Steam yet, it has to be voted in for that.

Here’s the website for it: Euro Truck Simulator 2 | Trucks movies

I play it through this nice cheap discontinued steering wheel that cost me only $38 from MicroCenter: Newegg.com - THRUSTMASTER Ferrari GT Experience Racing Wheel

I had a bad experience with buying a top end steering wheel game controller like the Logitech G27, many games didn’t support it and the one I bought from Fry’s was defective. This is the type of product I’d only buy from a store and not online because shipping is a big hassle if the product is defective. Amazon.com: Logitech G27 Racing Wheel: Electronics

Now with this game I have a new appreciation of how tough it can be to be a big rig truck driver! Staying in your lane at high speed and not crashing… The control wheel is a bit sensitive on my steering wheel. And boy is it tough and tricky to learn how to properly direct and backup a big rig. Nice trailer simulation that applies to real life big rig driving! It’ll help me learn how to back up a real big rig in simulation!

Do you think this is the best big rig driving game out there? Know of any other ones?

Euro Truck Sim 2 is now my MOST PLAYED GAME EVER! I put 47 hours into it now and I'm at Level 21. Grab it while the price has been lowered to $17.97! I also got Scania Truck Driving Simulator too for $11.98 - that's cheap!

Buy at: Gametap Shop - Download your PC Games

This is kinda a spam post.

Also i couldn't think of anything worse to make a sim on. Except maybe an ice cream melting sim?

No, this is not a spam post or advertising. I'm just sharing a game that is one of my most played games ever! I really like this game. I unexpectedly got into it - mainly bought it to sightsee cities, but it's not for city sim sightseeing. It gives the realism of shifting gears and parking with a trailer / backing up, - depending on how you play and configure it.

I've played this game more than my other driving racing sims, like F1, Need for Speed, Grid, Dirt 2, or Dirt 3.

You can download the game for FREE and run it in demo mode to see if you like the game! So if your skeptical if a truck driving game can be fun it can't hurt to try a demo!
Euro Truck Simulator 2 | Download

After I get to Level 25 I'll give the Scania Truck Driving Sim a play. More challenging truck driving.

Currently, these games might be the best truck driving sims on the market!

I actually played a truck simulator when I was younger. It was called King of the Road 2 if I'm not mistaken. Don't think anyone in the US or most of the Europe heard of it. But in CIS and Eastern Europe it was very well known and popular.
You would start off with a small truck and not a lot of money. You would then take on delivery contracts and earn some dough. You could spend it (besides gas of course :D) on cars/carmods or hiring other truckers to work for your firm. On the road there would be not only other trucks/cars, but also various gangs and cops. You could bribe cops , pay gangs not to rob you. If you had no money, you could persuade a gang that you have nothing of value inside your truck. Sometimes they belived you and sometimes they didn't :D. Also while delivering goods you would often compete with AI who makes his delivery first. First place - a nice money bonus plus a license to hire other truckers to work for you. Kinda cool, truck GTA :D. And of course, there were always some illegal deliveries as well ;).
And in the end, if you've made it, there was a BMW M3, which you could buy in game. Driving on the roads like a boss!
A lot of my friends from school or from the streets used to play it too. It was that awesome.

Nice videos mate, actually I'll probably even try the game. I've played a truck simulator ages ago (it was called Hard Truck if I remember correctly) and strangely I liked it a lot, so maybe the old feelings return with this :p .

My friend keeps playing that Euro Truck Sim 2, seems like a decent enough game.
Think its suppose to be released on Steam soon if it gets the green light.

I was thinking of getting other truck sim games but they were old and had severely outdated graphics. One of them simulated towing 3 trailers, - I consider only an expert truck driver in real life can handle that! -- I wonder how hard it would be to back up such a thing!

If you know of any other recent good truck sims, mention them here!
