Why doesn't ATI support Dell laptops?
Dell is never going to keep on top of their drivers, I've talked with one of their reps and it was a waste of time.
So far my only option has been Omega Drivers, but I'm having some issues, and wanted to actually be able to download official drivers. But nooooo, ATI doesn't support Dell. They should.
Is there any other alternative to OmegaDrivers? Or could I force-install the new Cat 6.3 drivers anyway?
Thanks.

download the ATI 6.3 desktop drivers, and use the utility from www.driverheaven.net to install them
here is the direct link to the mobility modder

Modder? You don't need that do you? My Gateway's not "supported" either. All that means is that the first little link on ATI's site won't send you to the real file.
I just get a direct link(do a google search, they're all over) for the mobility version of the driver I want, and install it. The file itself will install on any machine. It's just that first step that won't send you to the file if you don't have an "approved" machine.
I installed 6.3's successfully on a friends Inspiron 6000 just last week. -

You need to use the modder if you want to install the desktop drivers. The Mobility Catalyst drivers need no modder.

Ah right ok. Thanks guys. So I guesss it doesn't really matter one way or another how I do it.

I think he was just making sure it was clear to me that if I chose to go the desktop driver I would need the modder, or if I chose to directly get a Mobility one, I wouldn't need the modder. There probably isn't much a difference...
Actually, I'm not even sure why it needs to be different.... -
