I knew this game was announced for Xbox 360 & PS3 but was hoping there would be a later release date for PC. I cant seem to find anything supporting this so that kind of sucks.

Had my hopes up some since Street Fighter 4 was on PC. However the never did give PC users the new Super Street Fighter 4 despite it being probably a 4 minute port job (same game as before, just some new characters)

Anybody else wish this had a PC release?

I think MvC2 was the most played fighting game between me and friends in the day. I was so faithful to the game that I kept my dreamcast just for it, and when building my custom arcade sticks I made dreamcast adapters just to play it.

Maybe just maybe if enough PC users speak out and say they want the game on PC and do not own a console or want a console version they will bring it to us, never can hurt to try.

It's probably for the best. I think MvC3 would be pirated like crazy on the PC. (way more than on the consoles) :(

Posting on internet forums when you're drunk is bad...Please move this to off topic. lol j/k

I think the best fighting game from capcom was Xmen with the streetfighter engine. Just pure Xmen characters. I loved playing it on my sega saturn. Oh and yeah Dreamcast was the bomb! Sega was the finest videogame company on the planet, not just hardware wise, but most definitley their in house development teams. The industry knew this and that's why they had to make sure Sega failed.

Anyway they moved my Magic Carpet 3d!!! Oh the humanity! T_T

Pirating is not even a factor in my belief of if a game should come to a platform or not.

You still make money on it, and it just means more people playing and more options for people (not to be misunderstood I do not mean more people playing due to pirating, I mean more people playing the game because they own a PC and not a console like myself)

Last I checked, highly pirated games are also highly sold games as many people turn around and purchase the game after determining they like it.

PS3 apparently is having a big issue with it now, but that is neither here nor there as like I said its not even a factor to me as to why we do/do not have this game for PC players.

I am the person that would rather own a nice computer that I can work & play on, and not have the cost of a console on top of it, I prefer how PC can have better graphics options, more customization (going back to SF4, we had tons of custom character skins, music, things like that)

In my years of gaming, I have seen all my consoles rise and fall, the old video connectors, the controllers, the power bricks, the system itself, it gets old, dusty, obsolete, it breaks, or it starts to take up more space than it is worth.

At one point I had a genisis, a nes, a snes, a sega cd, and a PlayStation all hooked up to my TV and it was a HORRIBLE mess of controllers, cords, mixed games, and it took up my entire entertainment area.

So I choose not to invest in consoles anymore. My PC games from 5 or 6 years ago are still good to play on my current PC, but my old console games are lost or useless now.

I found that computers are a much better investment and easier to manage than consoles for me. I will always be having a computer in working order, if it gets old I can upgrade it or replace it unlike the consoles and there proprietary controllers and connections. So PC is now my primary gaming tool and will continue to be till the end of time.

I was hoping for a PC release of this game and you never know we might see one down the road since Capcom has been bringing alot of stuff to the PC ..

PC never gets the re releases or DLC like the consoles do but i guess some is better then none as they say..

Piracy is on every platform now and its cheaper to go buy a PS3 or a 360 then it is to build a half decent gaming rig so that argument is getting old that piracy is the reason
PC wont get X or Y title..

As dumb as it may sound, I think the console developers still take it to heart when considering porting their games over. I'd love to be able to play it on my PC myself, but I don't think Capcom will be bringing it to us anytime soon, if at all.

It will come out later most likely.
I follow the scene quite religiously and Ono(SF4 producer) has been dropping massive hints lately that SSF4 might be coming out for PC.

On top of that MvC3 is an MT framework game and is already running on PCs. Check out the screenshots Capcom posted. They are all in 1080p with antialiasing enabled. No console can do that.

My best advice is wait until April. That's when Capcom Captivate is and that's the most likely time we will be seeing announcements. Ono has said that he will be announcing the PC news after the 3DS launch of SSF4.

On a side note, got to play this on my friends PS3 the other day. Pretty fun I tell ya. Kinda hard to combo on a ps3 pad but i made it work. Dante is easy mode after all :D

I wish people would stop with this already. SF4 did do well as a matter of fact. It exceeded their expectations in Capcom.
Also that story is really old. The same guy who said that is now saying that the PC version is going in a good direction.

Capcom's PR is really really bad imo. The guy in Japan says piracy, while the VP in USA says its not piracy prior to SFIV's release.

If SF4 did not do well on PC I would say its due to the quality.

I was incredibly disappointed with it, it was a clean cut console port with no detail or attention to the fact it was on PC.

    Just a few issues:

Match making would sometimes take forever
No Push to talk key for voice chat
No configuration for voice chat (like gain)
    Limited graphics options
No 2 player support with keyboard
    Horrible gamepad support

SSF4 gave them a chance to easily fix most of those issues and have a much better re-release of this game.

Did you read what you linked?

Let me get the date on that article: February 22, 2009. Well, jeez, if the reason that SSFIV isn't out on the PC is because it's not done, then they are being really, really deliberate aren't they.

The point is that the reason's really simple: Capcom doesn't believe they'll get a good return on making a PC port for their fighting games, and therefore, they're not going to do it.

I clearly said that it was PRIOR to SF4's release, and that was just meant to show their VP debunking the piracy myth altogether. The reason right now is listed here:

Ask Capcom session with Christian Svensson, transcript : News : EventHubs.com

You're right about the return on investment thing though. There is an opportunity cost involved with development after all and thats why they obviously thought their resources would be better spent on the 3DS and SFxT. However as I mentioned in my previous post, the producer of the game who initially said all that blabber about piracy is now pretty much saying that there is news, wait for it after the 3DS version launches.
The only question is now what the news will be. Chances are is it will be them announcing the PC version altogether going by how much he has been tweeting about it recently.

Your not missing much let me tell you, being a fan and owning a "rare" copy of the ps2 MvC2 I loved it to death, MvC3 pales in comparison, looks great but it could have used some story atleast, arcade is soo done and old, and the lack of characters upsets me, capcom is money hungry and they'll get another 20 bucks out of your pocket by making you pay for DLC content that should be in the game to begin with. DLC is starting to wreck gaming, slowly but surely.

I am a Marvel far longer than DC comics but I do believe that Marvel missed badly by not having an online MMO like DC Universe Online, which I am thoroughly enjoying for over 45 days now :)
