I had Portal years ago and played through it a few times on my Steam account; when I got my M11xR2 I just installed it again.
I thought I had a bunch of achievements from my old games..not sure...didn't pay attention to achievements, but now with my "new" m11xr2 Portal game, it never reports any achievements at all that I have just done?
    Is this a known issue?
When I went to the Steam web site they sorta said that Achievement updating does not work for some people some of the time and they are sorry. ?????
    Does anyone have them working?

Well, I'll have to try it but I think new ones don't register either.
You're right - no big deal since I never even paid attention to them anyway.

No achievements is good :D so if you ever decide to cheat in single player for fun (like change gravity) you wont have the game company trying to ban you...

Just had to say it :p

At least no one will have a reason to call you "Achievement -bleep-" when you keep on replaying the game :p

Cant wait for Portal 2 BTW I loved portal, wish it was a bit longer though.

Also there is a a dungeon in Darksiders that is just like Portal, it was long enough of a dungeon that it probably took me as long to beat as half of portal.

Woah Darksiders have a huge dungeon? o_O I alway thought it's sorta a god of war game which is quite... linear

Nope, its 90% Zelda and 10% Devil May Cry if I had to explain it.

I was quite surprised too, I tried to do a video review the other day but its kinda hard since I beat the game now there is not much left to do/show and I hate to start a new game for the review since you do not have all the fancy goodies.

Hm... I'll have to check out reviews for it then ._. I never got it thinking it was a short linear game

    @ViciousXUSMC
Thanks for the Darksiders recommendation. I'm always looking for decent games to play...and often the best ones are the ones with the least publicity.

Not as good as Zelda for sure, Zelda is a great mix of environment, story, puzzle solving, music, and explorationg/combat.

But Darksiders definitely gets a bunch of those, but not all of them. So yes I can say I recommend it, just dont think I recommend it as highly as a Zelda title.

Not only did it rip Portal in one dungion, it rips a few other games too.

There is a long flight sequence on the back of a dragon that plays as a rail shooter so its just like Panzer Dragoon.

Also there are a few 3rd person shooter parts in the game that play different than the rest of the game, where its run around and kill DMC style but with the overall RPG aspect of Zelda.

It's weird. achievements for any valve game are stored in steam cloud servers, which means even if you delete the games, achievements should still be there. you can contact Steam support or just get them again.

Pretty sure they sync the steam cloud with your computer when you exit the game. If you somehow don't unlock the achievements at all during your gameplay, you won't be able to upload the achievements and save it on steam cloud ._.
