Ok those that are born in the 90s and later might not remember these games, but after my workout today, for some reason I was feeling nostalgic and reminscing about those good ol' PC games that I used to play back in the day. Any of you guys/girls remember these?

    1. Tyrian (1995)
    2. One Must Fall 2097 (1994)
    3. Scorched Earth (1991)
    4. Raptor: Call of the Shadows (1994)
    5. (Harmless Games) Infantry (1999)
    6. Starcraft (1998)
    7. Quake I (1996) - didn't really get into Doom (or Duke Nukem or Wolfenstein)

Nowadays, I just don't get the same feeling playing any of these new games (with the exception of Rock Band 2 (2008) and maybe Warcraft III (2002)). Maybe its just me getting older and finding other things more fun to do...

yeah, it is hard to find a game that you enjoyed when you were younger.

I remember some like Breath of Fire, zelda, ff7 were some of my favs when i was younger.

But yeah, i dont get the same feeling when i play new games anymore. I guess its because there are so many to choose from

You must be like me. As I get older, I tend to appreciate a fine game and get more and more disappointed by the crap that's released these days.

That being said, I do think part of it is that over time you weed out the crap and remember the truly great games. Same will probably happen in ten years with the games released now.

From your list I do recall, and have fond memories of:

Scorched Earth - great multiplayer, even single seat
One Must Fall - fun fighting
Starcaft - who doesn't love this one!?
Quake I - That and Wolfenstein for me

    A couple others:

    Lemmings
    Civilization I
    Descent

F19 Stealth Fighter, from the late 80´s. The first flight sim where planning and tactics were more important than good reflexes and a quick finger on the trigger.

Terra Nova. Best power armor FPS ever made. This one just begs for a remake. The Cryengine would be perfect for this.

Xcom. Don´t really have to comment on this one, do I?

I'm too young to remember ever playing these, except Wolfenstein, Warcraft 3 and Starcraft

I do remember always watching my cousin (4 years older than me) always playing Starcraft whenever I went to his house, though...

I was born in 88, so old games for me include System Shock, Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Starcraft, Red Alert 2, Warcraft 3, Diablo II, Half Life...

Ahhh good memories. Pity they don't make games like those anymore.

A lot of today's games are crap, it's not imagination, just simply "casual gaming" flooding the market with crap.

The likes of Commander Keen, Quake 1-3, Starcraft, and Counter-Strike - although played now are "meh" - were exceptionally great games for their times. I can't say that about any game today... the last one I remotely found enjoyable was Battlefield 2 (and it's still crap compared to what it c/should have been)

How about Diablo I?? I guess this is one of the best games created of all time (kanye must have picked this one.. hehe).

Scorched earth, starcraft are good PC games too.... how about NES games like street fighter? Dragonball? those are one of my favorites as well.

    System shock 2 :p

Can't find an old game that makes you soil your pants any more than that one. That is this horror gaming genre's creepy old grandfather.

Are you guys forgetting Super Mario? This was a great game and it was so popular! Everyone talked about it and discussions about this game could go on for hours. I remember when I was like seven or eight years old, the only thing we did was to play Super Mario. This is my favorite game of all time.
