I'm going to buy a laptop and I'd like to put a few games on it, but nothing much. I would like to put games like Zoo Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon on the laptop, not games like Doom or Halo or anything like that. Would my games zap much memory from a laptop? And also- about how much memory would a 380 song iTunes music library take up?

    Thanks

I have about 500 songs in my library and thats about 1.3gb.

And those games run fine with any intergrated GPU, although a dedicated one, even an 9600, x300, 6200 should be taken into consideration as well.

What do you mean by although a dedicated one, even an 9600, x300, 6200...?

Sorry, I have no clue what that means yet. Maybe when I turn 20 I'll have an idea... Please explain!

well onboard GPU's are generally not very powerful as it draws it's Video Ram from the Ram itself, as dedicated GPU's have thir own Ram, which renders them more powerful.

The ati 9600, ati x300 and the nVidia 6200 are just examples of GPU's that aren't the best, or the worse and should work great for you.

A graphics card with its own dedicated memory will perform much better than a graphics card which shares or rather gets it's memory from the main system RAM.

Shared graphics cards are cheaper and will run the games you mentioned, but performance will decrease when running the latest games.

The number of songs depends on the sizes of each song but on average 400 songs should take up around 700MB - 1GB.

Yea, I bought a Zen Touch, 20gb, Because I thought that a 4gb Mini would be too small(Both were same price..)

    It's been 3 months, and I've only used 4.2gb
