I don't know how familiar some of the NBR forumites are with The Sims Stories franchise but basically they're dumbed down versions of The Sims 2 that are optimized for notebook play. When I first bought Life Stories, I wasn't that impressed by it. The story mode seemed tacked on and the gameplay was somewhat lacking compared to the full game.

Well I installed it on my notebook tonight and found at that they weren't kidding when they said it was laptop optimzied. The keyboard shortcuts make sense on a notebook keyboard (though I wish the arrow keys could control the camera. I'm left handed so it's kind of awkward for me to have to use my dominant hand for camera movement and my right hand for trackpading...oh well) I was very impressed by how good the game looked on a GeForce 6150 and how smoothly it ran in Windowed mode (I'm running it now whilst browsing NBR and chatting with a buddy on AIM)

It saps my battery pretty quickly but I didn't expect good performance there. Anyway, my question is - Are there other notebook optimized games out there? 3d games that work well enough in windowed mode and have keyboard shortcuts designed for use on a notebook? Genre doesn't really matter as I'll play just about anything...I'm just not too familiar with notebook gaming (I'm not much of a PC gamer in general) but Sims Life Stories has left me hungry for more :p

Well the sims arent a very demanding game is it? most popular games are optimized so I'm a bit confused on what you are trying to say. I think its just because the sims is a rather less demanding game.

It was probably because I rambled too much :p. Basically the game's hotkeys are designed to work better on a notebook keyboard (no number pad etc), there's other features like a battery indicator in game, it's supposedly been tinkered with to run better on an integrated chip then vanilla Sims 2 (though vanilla Sims 2 ran well enough on integrated chips I had in the past...)

I wasn't really recommending it...I was basically asking if there were any other games out there with some similar features
