Why is it so hard to find benchmarks for notebook graphics cards? I have read the graphics card guide and it has made everything a lot more clearer, but I’m currently looking into the following cards and I would like to see if anyone can find game benchmarks for at least some of these.

    Nvidia GeForce Go7300
    ATI Mobility Radeon X1300

    Nvidia GeForce Go7400
    ATI Mobility Radeon X1400

    Nvidia GeForce Go7600
    ATI Mobility Radeon X1600

How good is the Go7600 256Mb? Is it able to play games like Quake4, Doom3 & Prey on medium/high on 1024x768 resolution? It would be great if a benchmark could compare mobile graphics to desktop ones and show which one equates to what.

Any resources or help appricated. :D

These are rough 3d mark 05 scores for ya to compare with your current set up

    Nvidia GeForce Go7300 = 1600
ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 = 1400 (this will perform better than the 7300 in real games though)

    Nvidia GeForce Go7400 = 2000
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 = 2000 (this will perform better than the 7400 in real games though)

    Nvidia GeForce Go7600 = 3700
    ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 = 4000

So the 7300 & 7400 would be worse then my current desktop 9700 Pro 128Mb?

Here is a benchmark I did today for my desktop computer which is really old, 1.6Ghz, 768 DDR RAM, 9700 Pro 128mb.

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2150038

I get 2226 3DMarks, however it lists my video card incorrectly with 256 MB video memory when I only have 128.

Any idea where I can see some game benchmarks?

You might have to scower the internet, but i don't think any online site has tested them under the same conditions agaisnt eachother, and yes the 7300/7400 might very well score less than your current set up. - since they are not powerfull cards, just low end/budget.

The 9700Pro is a strong card and it should outperform the X1400/Go7400.

i have the go7300 and i get 1496 in 3DMark05. Realworld performance is rubbsih - i play UT04 and Neverwinter Nights maxed out. Quake 4 was a no go unless playing in low quality and low res. I got around 50 fps walking and 30 fps when shooting/killing stuff. In medium quality that went down to 40 fps walking and around 20fps during action bits. These are average fps btw and i used fraps to monitor them.

If the Go 7600 256 performs anything like the Go 7600 512, those games will all run at 1280x800 High Quality or better. I beat Resurrection of Evil at 1680x1050 High, Quake 4 I was playing at 1280x800 High for smoother framerates, and Prey I beat at 1280x800 High but could get fairly smooth at 1440x900.

The Go 7600 is basically a higher powered GeForce 7300GT. (Note that when you search for 7300GT benchmarks, most of them will be the Inno3D one, which has been overclocked like crazy and will outperform the Go 7600. The 7600 is basically between the Inno3D and the regular 7300GT.)

I doubt there are many games using 512MB of texture memory, maybe only Doom3 based games have that option or maybe Oblivion.
