Now that IB cpu's NDA is coming down tonight, any news on either 7970m or 680m?

Topic pretty much says it all... Will I be able to see new laptops with IB cpu and possibly either 7970m(or 7870m) or 680m(or 660m) later tonight? Or are those "new generation" of gfx cards will be released much later than IB cpu? I just can't wait to get a new laptop with IB cpu with these new gfx cards :D :D :D

Head over to the Alienware M17x R3 forums, or even just peak at the thread below this, the 7970m has been tested in the R3 and the M15x as well. It's quite speedy :)

Yeah, I believe no one can actually get them until the 29th. Only the NDA will go down tomorrow so expect benchmarks, and reviews.

The 7970m apparently will be available on the 24th so wait is not long at all for you.

    I'm jealous
Moving to 22nm and 28nm is great time to buy a laptop

7970m is freaking BEAST, perform at the level of desktop GTX 570 at stock speeds and when overclocked can be about on par of desktop GTX 580

Hmm. Making me rethink too. Maybe I'll go with a Sager 15" with quad Ivy and 7970m.

I hope the 7950M and 78xxM variants come out right away too. I don't think I need a full blown 100 watt card.

I just got an answer from my reseller that production of 7970M starts in June meaning it will be shipped middle to late June :(.

Which reseller? Also, any idea on pricing? I'd love to wait for both IB and the 7970 on a Clevo P170EM. Mid June isn't a terrible wait but I am dissapointed to hear that, was hoping to play some D3 next month :(

The 7970Ms available in Alienware configurations are listed to ship in Mid-May, so I doubt that production only starts in June.

Some resellers now have the estimated shipping dates at late May and some early-mid June. Some have equal prices for 7970M and some charge more than 675M.
Alienware.com is the only one that is selling the 7970M cheaper than the 675M. Its either really cheaper and the resellers are pocketing more since theyve seen how much of an improvement the 7970M and realise demand will be high regardless of the higher price is or its really more expensive and Alienware has their weird pricing again.

Im going to say 2 things:

Supply and Demand - shipping dates skyrocket

Deals - whoever has the best deal prices better the cards.

Or Alienware charges more for the Nvidia cards which only makes it look like they're selling the AMD cards for cheaper.
