    Hi
I just bought from upgrademonkey the Nvidia 675MX VGA card. I installed it on my P150HM laptop. At powerup, I got an alarm sound and the three blue LEDs blinking. The PC then stops. I reinstall several times with the same phenomena. Remouniting my 6990M card makes the problem disappear.

    Can someone help? thanks

N.B: THis card was supposedly (upgrademonkey dixit) working on P150HM

im no expert but i think you need to flash the bios to change from ati to nvidia chips.
also what thermal paste are you using?

as i said im no expert so best wait for a reply from someone that knows about bios updates.

would help if you could post the laptop make/model and its spec as bios varies between companys.

I found what created the alarm sound: iused the wrong X-bracket (my 6990M one) on the 675MX card.

NOw with the card alone I got the boot screen with "F2 setup" and "F7 options" but impossible to select by keyboard either of these. No way to get the boot menu by pressing F2 or any other keys

The card has the wrong vBIOS, you have one for the newer EM series where you need one for HM...if you have any chance to get it to boot from USB, like unplugging everything else then you can flash it at home. Also a friend with an MXM sysytem or better an MXM SLI system could assist you in flashing the card otherwise they will have to send you an other card.

If the card has this vBIOS then it won't work: 80.04.58.00.05

Hello there, I have read through the thread, you posted, first of all sorry to hear not working,

you do NOT need to flash the card, and first of all you need to make sure the card was installed properly ,with correct X-bracket,

the card cooling properly with components covered by thermal pads .( otherwise it will not work )

if powered on without installed properly , it will damage card

" iused the wrong X-bracket (my 6990M one) on the 675MX card. "

with the wrong X-bracket ,the card overheat straight away and freeze.

couldn't you just return it back to the seller saying it's defective?
