What is it? I have a guy selling me an Alienware computer, no HDD or OS, but he only wants $400 for it. Little outdated technology, (P4 3.2HT, 2G DDR Ram, etc.) but for $400 I can't pass it up!

Just wondering what this is. I read somewhere it is a Quadro card. Is it the NVS140? All it says in his bios (no OS) is Nvidia 1400, 256M.

ATI X1400 maybe? It does not sound like the guy is too familiar with what he has...

No Alienware (AFAIK) had/has the NVS140 card.

No, I looked at the Bios, which says Nvidia 1400. Now, I FINALLY found some information. It is called the Quadro FX1400. It is build on the same architecture as the 6800Ultra. This seems like a good deal for $400!

If you're looking to use it for gaming I'll pass, if you're looking for CAD work, yeah. ALso, it's DX 9 card and the newer generation cards consume less and perform as well and for 400 I don't think it's value for money.

How do you figure? Both the card and CPU can be upgraded. It's a Clevo, not an Alienware. (My mistake) They offer the 8800 for this computer, and Core2Duo CPU's. I think it's great for 400 bucks. And you do understand it is the same build as the 6800Ultra, correct? Meaning it performs around the same, just different driver support. I watched him play CoD4 on high, before he took the HDD out. I just wanted some info on it.
