These won't be applied to laptops since there is no Titan variant on the laptop and any modifications to this driver from the last WHQL is for Titan only. In fact everyone except Titan should still use 314.07.

Be fortunate this is a laptop-oriented forum. There has been flame wars over the Titan on other tech sites since it is basically a $1000 USD GPU (albeit the world's fastest Single GPU) they just released yesterday based on the Kepler GK110 platform. Also for people wondering if this has a laptop variant, forget it since GK110's TDP and heat is impossible to control in a laptop restricted size.

In Conclusion: Ignore the 314.09 except for Titan users (and those people highly doubt they will post here).

Why would that cause flame war? (though I know they're not that hard to start, this is the internet :p)

What's wrong with a $1000 GPU? It's not compulsory to buy it. It has an advantage over the GTX 690 as that is a dual GPU so (if I'm not mistaken) requires two slots to fit in when this would need only one? I'm not an expert on desktop GPUs as you can probably tell. I only own laptop (because as a student I can't afford to have both and need the portability of laptop).

Most high end desktop GPUs take up two slots. Basically anything GTX is a two-expansion slot configuration. The 690 and Titan are no different. They still only take up one PCIe slot, though.

    A few things:

    1. Some people are PO-ed that the Titan was suppose to be the proper GTX 680 and it took nVidia over a year to release and at a high price tag.
    2. The performance advantage for the Titan is not justified enough for the current price tag, giving AMD "fanboys" the chant to say that the 7970GE is still the best and at a good price.
    3. The GTX 690 is still better for the price since when SLI works well, the 690 owns the Titan.

    Stuff like that...
