Hello, I successfully installed xp on my hp dv6000 series laptop. Only problem is my video card driver is extremely dated. I have tried many different drivers with modded .inf files but no luck..only BSOD. If anyone has successfully installed new drivers on their 7150's with xp please let us know!!!!
Also any tips or drivers that IMPROVE gaming performance is key. I would like to squeeze every FPS I can!!!!
Thanks Again!

You are uninstalling any old Nvidia driver, correct? Make sure when you download the drivers from L2G, you are getting the XP versions. After you replace the modded .INF, you should be able to install the driver fresh. (Meaning your previous has been uninstalled, and restarted)

You may be stuck with the stock drivers, see this:

currently running 163.75

That's not "Extremely dated". So when you uninstall the driver, and restart everything is fine? It's just when you install the new one you get a BSoD. Usually, the BSoD during installation is caused by a previous driver.

can i use my modded inf file from this current driver? I cannot remember how to modify the inf for my hp.

You don't need to modify it. That's why you are getting the BSoD.
You have to listen to us.
Go to laptopvideo2go.com, download the latest driver with your card support, download the modded .INF. Replace the .INF with the modded .INF in the driver folder. Uninstall your current driver. Restart, then install the new driver. -
no YOUR not listening to me. No matter what I do uninstall..mod inf..replace inf anything I get the BSOD. I have tried your process countless times with no progress!!!!!!!!

Did you take a look at the article I linked?

Well said Chaz. Sorry if I miss understood you, Cabrel. Seemed like you weren't uninstalling first. This card may not be able to update drivers in XP. I would just suggest sticking with your current driver, and adjusting your game settings. What games are you trying to play?
