    Hey!

Im wondering if you could help, ive decided on buying a HP DV series laptop to replace this super shoddy Dell Inspiron 2650.

    1. I was pretty set on a DV 9340 (i think) that has a Nvidia 7600 Go (as well as C2D, 2GB RAM) - and was wondering how you think it would perform in games such as BF2 under Vista? Is the 7600 any good for games?

    2. I then saw 8600M GT being sold on HP US site and saw that this seemed a better card than the 7600, but i cant find the 8600M GT anywhere on the UK site. So any news on when HP will bring the 8600M GT to the UK and is it worth waiting?

Thanks for any help to either of these questions!

It is a better card then the 7600, as the 8600 was slated to replace it. I personally have no idea about the UK thing, I figured the card was already there and don't understand why HP doesn't have it.

the 8600m gt is a lot faster than the go 7600. if you want to play especially upcoming games, its absolutely worth getting.

edit: the 7600 go is also more than capable of playing bf2.

um the 8600M GS is the option for the dv9500t, i dont see the 8600M GT option in there.

the 8600M GS is pretty much on par with the go7600 but it is heavily underclocked so u shud overclock it. the go7600 is underclocked as well btw.

If you want the 86GT, get a DELL with the 8600M GT. HP only offers GS. I had an 8400M GS in an HP dv6500t before though, it was excellent and good enough to play CSS settings high 16x Aniso > 100FPS constant.

Thanks for all the help guys.

So a 8600 is better, but a 7600 is still decent (eg able to play BF2)?

Also, can i have a link for a DV6500t in the UK - i cant find any HP laptops with C2D / 1GB RAM / DX10 in the UK...

the 8600 will obviously outperform the go 7600.. but the 7600 is still a very capable card. Hell, my g6600 still is pretty good for gaming.
