Hey guys, well ive had a nice sony vaio with 7400 graphics card for about 9 months now.I think i need an upgrade but heres the thing.I was on sony's website and noticed that they have new laptops with like core 2 duo,2gb ram etc and a nvidia 8400m gt with support for dx 10 etc and a hdmi port

So what i want to know.should i go with the 8400m gt or go for a slightly order sony with a nvidia 7600?

I ask this as my friend said the 8400m gt was a very slow graphics card.

    Thanks in advance

it is probably going to be slower than the go7600 but that all depends on the specs and dedicated RAM available to either one.

yeah it's definitely slower than the 7600 but the dx10 capabilities might be enough to justify getting it, although it probably won't play dx10 games at even medium settings. If you actually plan on doing some gaming, you should just get an 8600m gt or 8700m.

I wouldn't really say VERY slow . . . It should be at the higher end of the low-end graphics card (It's faster than the 8400gs, 7400, 7300, blah blah blah . . .)

The 8400 GT is not slow at all. It's about even with the 7600, maybe slightly less powerful, but not too much.

the go 8400gt as ayepecks said is a pretty good card. It is almost on par with the 7600 go, probably about as good as the go 6600.
