I have never OCed before on this notebook. and iam using GPU0Z 0.2.6 (latest) to look at the readings.

But the problem is at idle I get 169.0 MHz Core Clock and 100.0 MHz clock.
so 169/100 which is fine with the PC running aeros doing nothing.

But when i play a game. it jumps to 275/300... is this normal? I thought it was supposed to be alot higher. like 400/600 Is my graphics card holding back?

Iam using a regular install of WIndows Vista 64 bit.
And iam using the newest drivers from this website: Laptopvideo2go.com

My idle GPU temps is around 64 C and when iam playing games it only jumps up to like 69 C i thought it was supposed to top out alot higher...

soooooo is my GPU running normally? should i OC this thing manually to reach the 400/600? or this supposed to be normal?

My 3dmark is also like... around 1,000~ and see people with simular specs with alot higher scores.

    Please help...

    Hey,
Just try to help you on this.
I myself is using a OCed 8400m GS.
I think Sony has limited you laptop gfx speed. You can manually Oc the card if you want to achieve the speed you want. but pls try not to overclock it as I am not sure if Sony machines can withstand that high temp. And very few ppl OC on sony.
    Hope this help. Thanks

ok i just checked atitool. the new one. because its the only one that can pick up. BUT it doesn't hold its OC.

welp. it looks like thats the 3d LOW performance. and the normal clocks of 400/600 can be see in the high performance. is there any way i can force it to go to high performance when i play a game?

what do you expect from a lowest end card of current generation? 1000 from 3dmark is acceptable, regular 1300.

its not just that.. i would just rather see it make that score with it in its 400/600 mode instead of its low end performance mode. of 275/300

i can monitor it 100% positive because i have another monitor connected to this laptop with it in extended mode and as you can see in that screen shot i took. i have the option checked with it continueing to refresh under background

is there a way i can force it to go into high performance mode and stay that when when i need it too?

you are reading 275/300 because you are not gaming nor running any GPU intensive apps. the clocking itself will change to 400/600/800 when you game. my 8800m gtx is running at 200/100 right now when i typing this. also try drivers from laptopvideo2go.com: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=88

i might not be explainging this correctly.

    iam running 2 displays.

in 1 display i can have ATItool or GPU-Z or CPU-Z or whatever i want up.

on another screen I can i have the physical game.

On any game i play.. Crysis... or Source engine. i keep ATItool or GPU-Z up so i can see the clocks change and the temps change. (which it does prety well)

but the problem is that it doesn't switch into its high performance 3d mode. It only goes into 3d mode but its lowest settings. which is the 275/300 i was wondering if there was a way i can manually throw it into 400/600 (which is its max settings) manually.

I have tried a few drivers so far... iam not sure what the deal is.. and i restart each time i install a new driver. i guess i'll try 169.04 drivers again and see if its possible to OC with it.

I hope this reply clears up any confusions. and i hope theres a solution to this.
