Will I not be able to play upcoming games with the Nvidia 8400 GS?
I have the option to get the Nvidia 8600 GT, but an HP with the Nvidia 8400 GS comes at a nicer, lower price (try $200 to $300 bucks less than the laptops I'm interested in buying with the 8600 GT)
I'm not a hardcore pc gamer, I have maybe 1 to 2 games on my reg computer that I play. I just want to know if I can still play upcoming games with the Nvidia 8400 GS at like medium graphic settings.
I'm gonna be a college student next year that wants some gaming options, they don't have to be shi@ yourself graphics, but dependable and good.
Help me out here guys? Thanks.

It really depends on what games you're looking at. Games like Bioshock and Crysis will bring that system down. Probably even on low settings. While a game like Starcraft will probably play well at lower settings.

Think of 8400 as lower end DX10 card and 8600 as middle of the road DX10 card if 8800 and 8900 ever come out in notebooks those will be high end.

if you ask me, get the 8600mGT, because $100~200 will take you 5~6 months ahead (or maybe even more) than the 8400
Nvidia 8600 GT vs. Nvidia 8400 GS
