Not much performance difference between 256 and 512 i think with current games. However, a lot of difference between the speed of memory (GDDR2 and GDDR3).

difference in memory >.> the amount. Performance difference, the same both cards can't make use of more than 256

Between 256MB and 512MB, you wont see any noticable difference, unless playing extreme games, highest settings, and a high resolution, other than that, no. If that, there will still only be a slight difference, maybe some less bottlenecking every once in a while, but not worth and $$ as an upgrade.

    Pretty good answer Nvidia.
-it may be worth a little bit of money as an upgrade, especially for resale value. But, no you wont see much of a difference in proformance.

    Hope I could Help :)

The GDDR3 256mb card is showing considerable performance boost in most games. Nearly 30% better.

I am personally doing a test with hellgate london soon tho wich is as biased twords the 512mb card as possible because it recomends a 756mb card and 3gb system membory. Playing it with 2gb system memory and the 512mb card maxes out my ram at 98%

I get the GDDR3 card soon to test, and I will see if the performance goes up because its a faster card, or goes down because there is now less memory.

I will post it here in the game section when I get all the materials and finish my test.
