    Hi there!

What is the most similar desktop video card (dx9) compared to notebook go8600GT?

BTW, the Asus Z53sv is 8600 GT or GS?

    thanks!

Comparing it with desktop cards is hard. My guess would be around Geforce 7800gt or ATI x1800XT.

Any desktop x1800XT and up, and 7800GT and up will beat out, or be similar to the 8600mGT for notebooks. The 8600mGS just sucks altogether!

Oh, and the 8600mGT or GS have only a 128Bit memory interface, which means that it will suffer greatly when trying to play games at very high resolutions, like 1920x1200. Which is something neither of the cards I stated above have a problem with.

    Somewhere between a desktop 7600GT and 7900GS.
