Hello all,
i have been wondering if you guys think or know whether or not the 8600m GT will be able to handle the upcoming Warhammer Online lag free at mid-low settings.
i honestly have no idea, so thanks in advance, as i really do appreciate your help.![]()

It will I can handle the game dirt with it which has graphics comparable to a ps3.
-
i see, and i have personally played dirt, and may i say it has awesome graphics. Well i would like more replies so i can be comfortable i make the right choice.
Thanks all -
Look at reviews of the Asus C90 and G1s, they will prove to you that the 8600M GT can handle pretty much any game at med-high settings.
-
alright thanks, ill be sure to check it out.
anyone else?
thanks to all once again -
for sure it will run at med settings
1) mmo usually have very scalable settings because they want the MOST amount of people to play their games, and most people don't even have gpus as good as 8600gt
2) you will be able to run crysis (at low res like 1280x800 and no aa) at med to low settings and there is no way, crysis will be much more gpu demanding with volumetric lights etc... than warhammer. -
alright good, thanks for the help all

The difference between 8600m gt cards with dd2 and dd3 is about ~600 or so in 3dmark06; realistically, this is usually at most 15 fps, though from what I've seen on these forums, more like about 7-10 fps change. In other words, if the ddr2 can't play a certain game smoothly, the ddr3 really isn't going to be a whole lot better.

imo, 7-15 fps is a lot!

does the 8600m GT that the inspiron 1520 comes with dd3? or is it dd2? -
it comes with ddr2, if you look at the advertisement for the new vostro, I believe Dell actually states ddr2. I was reading on some reviews through the net, they said that the 8600m gt operates in "dual band mode" creating the 22.4 bus or whatever. Not sure if that has to do with anything honestly, I was reading into some of the math and why people were mad but I figure either way the system should only see like a 10fps max difference.

The only notebooks featuring the 8600m GT with DDR3 RAM are Macbook pros and the Asus G1S.
Nvidia 8600m GT and inspiron 1520
