Here's hoping we see these badboys inside a new MBP or XPS...
NVIDIA Optimizes Notebook PCs
With New Lineup Of GPUs
NVIDIA Addresses Global Demand for Better Visual Experiences on the Notebook PC
COMPUTEX 2008, TAIPEIJUNE 3, 2008As the global demand for better visual experiences makes its way into the notebook market, NVIDIA Corporation continues to address that demand with the introduction of a new line-up of notebook GPUs, the NVIDIA® GeForce® 9M Series of graphics processors, and a new graphics innovation, NVIDIA Hybrid SLI® technology. These new technologies enable customers to optimize their notebooks to power todays visual applications, such as: the latest operating systems, photo editing, mapping software, games, and HD movies. Considered one of the most important processors inside the notebook PC, and perhaps the most important, an NVIDIA GPU enables a completely flexible, scalable, and high-definition entertainment platform.
Beginning this summer, GeForce 9M GPUs and Hybrid SLI, paired with AMD and Intel CPUs, will enable a new breed of notebooks, said Jeff Fisher, senior vice president of the GPU business at NVIDIA. These new notebooks will be optimized to deliver a visual experience and raw computing performance that traditional cookie-cutter notebooks with integrated graphics simply cant touch.
With the launch of the GeForce 9M Series of notebook GPUs, NVIDIA has once again engineered the worlds fastest notebook GPUs, designed for running todays graphically intensive games, 3D applications and HD movies at extreme resolutions. In addition, this new GPU features a multi-core architecture which will not only speed up entertainment applications, but will also speed up todays lifestyle applications, like video encoding from a PC to a small personal media device, where the speed up in the video conversion is up to 5x faster with the GeForce 9M family GPUs.
In addition, the new GeForce 9M notebook GPUs enable the worlds first notebooks with Hybrid SLI technology. The new technology enables two NVIDIA GPUs, one low-power and one high-performance, to work cooperatively in the same PC to deliver two featuresGeForce Boost and HybridPower. These features deliver more performance from both GPUs for visual computing when needed, or save power by switching to the low-power GPU when not. Hybrid SLI gives users the quality and performance benefits of a high-performance GPU without sacrificing battery life.
The NVIDIA GeForce 9M family of GPUs also feature:
+ New graphics engine that delivers up to 40% faster performance than the previous generation of GeForce notebook GPUs and up to 10x faster than generic integrated graphics solutions
+ New PureVideo® HD video processing for improved color and contrast
+ Full support for the latest Blu-ray Profile 2.0 features and Blu-ray Live
+ Extensive multi-display connectivity with support for all the latest display standards including DVI, HDMI 1.3, Display Port 1.1, and VGA
+ Support for the new MXM version 3.0 graphics module specification
With the recent addition of advanced features to Blu-ray Live and complexity of DirectX 10 games like Crysis, PC users need more graphics processing performance than todays generic integrated graphics can deliver, said Rene Haas, general manager of the notebook business at NVIDIA. The new GeForce 9M series meets this need while also delivering processing muscle beyond gaming and graphics.
The new GeForce 9M GPUs will power the visual computing experience in over a hundred notebook models beginning this summer. For more information, please visit www.nvidia.com.

I just visited nVIDIA's site.
9600M is on nowhowever they didn't have any info about which manufacturer will have this card.
And no info on 9800M yet. Arghh. -
Actually, there is. Just edit the URL and you can find a little info on the 9800GT, 9800GTS, and 9800GTX.
-
All,
I was messing with the address bar while in the Nvidia website and discovered a yet unpublished link with some specs for the 9800m gtx and gts:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9800M_gts.html
http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9800M_gtx.html
Check it out ! the GTX will come with 112 cores (16 more than the 8800m gtx) and 420 Gigaflops !! -
wooo1 all gpu will have physx redy stuff!
-
the m1530 better get updated before I need to buy this summer..
-
-
I'd guess notebooks won't get a refresh until Montevina is released in the Fall, but it would be kind of stupid not to have new features for the college laptop buying season. I'm really hoping the 8600gt in the m1530 gets a refresh so mine will last even longer when I buy it. I can't wait that long to buy though.. -
Yeah, the 8600 in the Macbook Pro needs to go fast too...
And not be replaced by 9600 which would be bullcrap! -
Lord Egregious Notebook Evangelist
I was waiting till they were going to put these in the new laptops but I finally decided that since it takes an average 3 or more weeks to even get a m1530 and many come with issues I had better order now. Now I'm regretting that decision.
-
the 8600m gt will remain strong for a few more months. when the refresh comes out, sell it and buy the new one at a lower price!
-
If Nvidia play the card they have been playing recently a lot of these "9 series" GPUs will be 8 series rebranded.. possibly with a die shrink
-
considering the 9650gs looks like a renamed 8700gt im not too excited about the 9600gt. Hopefully they will come out with a 9650gt or 9700gt in 15.4" notebooks.
-
I'm dissapointed, the 9600m gt seem to be only a 8600 die shrunk and not the mobile version of the desktop 9600.... Come On Nvidia get your head out of your ass.
-
considering the 9500m gs is the die shrunk 8600m gt it seems you would be wrong.....doesn't the 8600m gt only have 32 shaders as well?
-
Up to 40% faster than previous generation? what a load of BS.
-
hehe they prob just put ddr3 memory in the 9600M instead of ddr2
-
there not going to be that much stronger
-
hopefully at least they will have gddr3 and slightly higher clocks than the 8 series counterparts and maybe better OC potential
-
@Adamu: I hope too, the 8600M GS/Gt were supposed to have GDDR3, but no manufacturers did so. Since mos of the 9500M GS come with DDR2... -
whats the difference between GeForce 9650M GS and the GeForce 9600M GT?
-
A little search goes a long way.
-
none of the links work anymore up from 9650 m gs . anyways, there is more, hybrid sli, physx power built in as well as next gen hd pure video support and i rly hope they put atleast 9700m gt in the m1530. that is going to own crysis more than the okay 8600m gt right now. Hell yeah!!!
peace out

3DMark06 test was done in 1024x768 resolution. -
sooo basically nvidia should have just not bothered making 9 series mobile
