    Nice to finally have some news but the history repeats again.

    Nvidia makes beast cards
    ATI makes card that ordinary people can buy.

    I have a good feeling about GF100. Remember when the 8-series first came out, and how the 8800-series became nVidia's flagship card, and how even two generations later, they were still rebranding that same core? Well, I think this has that sort of potential. The GT2xx series, while powerful, was not quite the same leap that we saw from the 7xxx to the 8xxx cards.

    I have good feelings too. By the sound of it, Nvidia is ready to cut the flagship into enthusiast/high-end/mainstream/entry levels. The CUDA cores are grouped into 4 groups of 32, in total called a GPC. GF100 has 4 GPC's for 512 cores, but that should be scalable.

    GTX 380m could have anywhere from 128 to 256 CUDA cores ;)

    The architecture improvements are intriguing, especially with geometry. I'm waiting until spring to build my new desktop either way, most likely with a 5850, but I can't wait to see what Nvidia has to offer!

    Thats not a good thing; I dont want to be buying Fermi based GPUs 3 years after the uarch has been released.

    It's a preview, not a review, nothing but speculation.

    Yeah, I suppose I worded that stupidly. What I'm saying is, I want GF100 to be worthy of rebranding 3 generations down the line...I would just really prefer if they didn't actually do it. :p

    I can not believe they even MENTIONED the words "GeForce FX 5800 "

    What a complete failure that was.

    And this
    That is a very BIG statement to be making.Is that before or after it starts to melt? :D

    But wasn't the 5900 still based on the same chip? It's true the 5800 failed but still

    Yes it was based on it but the 5900 went to 256bit memory interface and slower memory to boot giving it a better heat displacement.

    5800 = NV30
    5900 = NV35
    I think that was it.
