Nvidia GeForce WHQL Driver Version 466.77

Game Ready Driver Release Notes (v466.77)

Fixed problems in the Geforce 466.77 WHQL driver
    • [Crossfire HD]: Freestyle is not supported for the game.
    • [Kepler / Turing GPUs]: Blue screen crash with DPC watchdog violation error can occur.
    • [VR]: If the GPU is connected to a 4K UHD TV, the system may freeze when starting a VR game.
    • [RTX 20 series] [GTX 16/10 series] [HDMI]: The display mode 4K @ 120Hz is not available in the display settings.
    Open problems:
    • [NVIDIA Ampere GPU]: Colors can be displayed incorrectly in games if the sharpening freestyle filter is used with HDR activated. This problem will be fixed in the next version of the NVIDIA driver.
    • [HDR]: Some specific HDMI displays may have a slight flicker when in HDR mode. If you experience flicker issues, restart the system.
    • [World of Warcraft: Shadowlands]: Random flickering can occur at certain points in the game
    • [Batman Arkham Knight]: The game crashes when the turbulence smoke is activated.
    • [Steam VR Game]: Jerks and delays occur when starting a game while a GPU hardware monitoring tool is running in the background.
    • [YouTube]: The video playback stutters when scrolling down the YouTube page.
    • The display may flicker or lose its signal when starting a game on an adaptive-synchronous VRR monitor in a multi-monitor configuration when the same display mode is used
Let's see how much this driver will destroy for the users :D Please post bench results.

GeForce Hotfix display driver version 466.79 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 466.77.

The hotfix addresses the following issue:

    • Display may flicker or lose signal when launching a game on an adaptive-sync VRR monitor in multi-monitor configuration when sharing the same display mode [3314055]

These drivers caused RDR2 to artifact badly and a message popped saying i am out of VRAM.

It gave me a scare that my GPU was dead and i thought it was the OC but it wasnt the case because it still happened on stock clocks. Also i tested it out other games too like GTA V, Battlefield 1, and Forza and everything was fine. I even installed the next latest drivers which was 466.47 on Nvidia's site and the same problem occurred.... I went back to the 461.92 drivers i was using before and RDR2 is fine again. I didnt feel like testing more crappy drivers as i already wasted gaming time trying to fix it......

Weird, the only thing I see in release notes after that release is addition of Resizable BAR support. Vulkan or DX? I had some weird issues with Vulkan in RDR2 on and off.

Like i said it happened with the 466.47 drivers too. I couldnt get to the main menu because the artifacting started soon as i loaded up the game, i couldnt see a thing and then game crashed with a message that i ran out of VRAM, I usually run the game with Vulkan.
