    Hello,

I'd like to know if you can find Gforce 560X/570X with Optimus technology ?
If not, what's the most powerful Optimus graphic card ? The 555m ?

    Thanks !

    Unfortunately I can't afford laptop with 580m's :(

But I guess that if the technology does exists ont 580m's, it should exists on 560/570m's as well, shouldn't it ? From what I read, it's the same graphic card but with a different clock/shader speed.

I believe the alienware M17x R3 supports the 560m gtx and optimus.

No they're not the same card as the 580m. The 580m and the 485m are based on the same card.

I'm pretty sure all 5xx series cards support optimus, but it's whether the laptop manufacturer included an integrated graphics card or not.

    Also in terms of performance: 580m > 485m> 570m > 480m > 560m > 460m

just to clarify the 485m is based on a fully implemented gf104 and the 580m is based on the gf114, which uses a lower voltage and can be clocked a little higher. and the 4 series can also use switching graphics as well.

    Can get a Dell M6600 with a FX4000M (336 cores ~ GTX570) or FX5010M (384 ~ GTX485M). It has Optimus and even an expresscard slot.

Thanks for your replies, unfortunately the Dell is above my budget (which is more or less 1000EUR).

I don't want an Alienware because I need to bring my laptop at school for presentations, and later on during my internship I will need to present things in a professional environment.

Do you know any Sager/Clevo which support Optimus ? (Ideally on a GTX560M) ? I've contacted PowerNotebook.com, and they told me their GTX based laptops doesn't support Optimus.
