Does anyone know the TDP for Nvidia Ion?
And Intel 4500?
I'm comparing:
Acer 1810Tz with SU4100 (10 w) + Intel 4500
with
Asus 1201N with Atom N330 (8 watt) + Nvidia ION.

4500MHD GS45 is 12w but it has a low power mode. I think the low power mode is around 7w.
9400M is 12w but i don't know though if that has a low power mode. -
Thanks. Where did you find that info?

Pretty much 12w is the value given on every tech site and blog and they claim this to come from Nvidia although right now i cannot find this info on their website.
It does though seem to be confirmed here.

The info about the 4500 low power mode is on the Intel website. I will try and dig it up and edit it in. -
Ok thanks that will do.

The power ratings of the GM45 family chipsets are given on page 97 of Intel's datasheet No. 320122.
Most of the family are rated at 12W but there is a low power mode for the GS45 which is rated at 7 - 8W. I think the low power mode runs at a lower frequency, which probably needs a suitable BIOS. However, I recall observing that the Dell E4300, which uses the GS45, doesn't drop the frequency.

Thanks John for posting that. I looked at that page and could not find it before.
Now it would be interesting to find out if the 9400M has a lower power mode. If not it could explain why some setups seem get better battery life using 4500HD than 9400M.
I think that my TT supports the low power mode. At least that was the impression i got by looking at Everest. -
On my intel 4500 the Intel Control panel does have a Optimize for max. battery setting. I use that while on battery.
I think Each Intel 4500 can have this setting. It can be done by manually installing the .exe pack from Intel.com. The latest is 15.16.5.2021

I'm not sure if it works though. I can't tell because the power usage on my DM1 can not be read by RMClock or Windows.
Batterybar can give me a time but I found it to be inaccurate. -
