    On my last notebook with an Intel HD Graphics i3-380m, I would add this to the shortcut "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1366 +szy 768 , to make the game fullscreen.

But on my Optimus notebook with an Intel HD3000 and Nvidia GT540m it does not work, the games stay at 4:3

I cannot find anything in the Intel control panel to fit games to screen or change the aspect ratio , and the Nvidia control panel has very few controls and options as it runs though the Intel Graphics GPU.

I have also tried freespace 2, with the custom launcher and set the resolution to 1366x768 but it has no affect, I have also tried the shortcut hack i mentioned above but it does not work.

    Can Anybody Help

    Thanks

    John.

Is 1366x768 supported by the Intel HD graphics card?

As for aspect ratio, the option should be located in the Intel graphics control panel somewhere.

On my laptop with Intel HD graphics, it's on the General Settings tab under Refresh Rate.

1366x768 is my screens native resolution , In the Intel control panel , in the general sections . under refresh rate, there is only an rotation setting.

strange how you dont have it in the nvidia control panel like picture below.
i wouldnt think there would be any difference between optimus control panel and all other cards as its auto loaded through the driver download.

The Nvidia optimus runs though Intel GPU , so i am limited to those screen size position controls.

Below is what i have in the Nvidia control panel , I have had many Nvidia gpu`s over the years, and have used the settings you have in the picture above many times.

I have the same problem as well

When i try to play old games like GTA San andreas it runs it at 4:3 on a 1280x768 resolution with black borders on the sides and i cant run it on my naive resolution since the game dont support 1366x768

You don't run the regular Freespace executable. You run the launcher.exe from the Freespace 2 folder where you installed FS2 Open. Then you can select whatever resolution you want. Works like a charm!
