    Hello ,

Clevo P157SM-A Windows 10 here, with nvidia 358.50 using mainly on AC power.

nb is pretty new, came with Win10 and I didn't have optimus before. I have ssd msata EVO 250, and I notice a lag randomly navigating trough Windows UI, surfing, most of times accessing Metro Start menu.

When the lag generates, the dgpu led is lighting up for 1 second so it's like turning on dGPU for no reason then turn it off all in one second.
Nvidia gpu activity shows "no program" using it , altough it's active for 1 second.

    Happening to anyone else?
Any fix? The only way I'm preventing this is by letting MSI Afterburner on so the dGPU is always active

Get Classic Shell and see if it keeps doing it - http://www.classicshell.net/

Metro could be triggering the dGPU because of the effects when it comes up.

Windows 10 is a buggy mess right now. If you have a copy of 7/8/8.1, I'd recommend going and getting the drivers for your machine (actually you should have a driver disc I'd imagine - my SM-A came with 8.1 but came with driver discs for both 8.1 and 7) and downgrading. It really is the worst mess Microsoft has made since Windows ME.

Yes I have Windows 8.1 drivers from disc and from Sager site too. But I guess that Nvidia 8.1 drivers on Win10 will break something (maybe directx12 support? ).
If you have SM-A too, do you notice it too? or you remained with Win8.1 ?

I used 10 as an Insider Preview alongside 8.1 then when it went RTM I upgraded my 8.1 to 10 and I went back to 8.1

There are way too many issues with Windows 10, not just with drivers (that part is actually okay since for once *most* 8.1 drivers work on 10) but with spying, lag, crashes, incompatibilities... Its just a mess. If you have a copy of an older version of Windows (SM-A is meant for 7+), I'd drop Windows 10 and go back until Microsoft changes course.

Just go back to 8.1... DX12 is useless for now and WIndows 10 is just a mess...

With my P157SM-A using Windows 10 64-Bit with NVIDIA 358.91, I don't experience lag any where, any time. Hell, my 970m even runs Black Ops 3 fairly well.

I do have an 850 Pro 1TB SSD, the rest of the specs are in my signature. My Intel HD Driver is from October 26, 2015, but even with the one before that I didn't ever have any lag. I even underclock and undervolt my CPU + GPU and have no lag at all.

I have this bug on my MSI GT60 with a 970m and the latest Nvidia drivers do not fix this. It's really annoying because I like Windows 10 otherwise. If you check out the Mobile GPU category of the Nvidia Forums, there is a thread about it. No idea if they are working on a fix though so please report it to Nvidia.

Windows 10 is a pile of poo.. For those of you using it with NVIDIA cards, go back to 8.1.. Or just bear with it..

I have been experiencing the same problems since windows Technical Preview was released and it still remains today.

This is one of the most annoying, long running bugs I can recall.

I obtained attention from Nvidia after I provided videos, details, logs and all my availability to them. Got a little bit of conversation and The problem is now under the eyes of Nvidia devs finally. I had them write a statement on the bug thread on Nvidia forum. It will be solved, just we don't know when
