To keep things short, I've supplied the pop-ups that I receive, by the order in which they appear. When I press OK, the next window appears.

    Notes:

    - It's the same outcome, whether I attempt to overwrite the file, or I do a direct uninstall via Windows Control Panel.

    - I'm suspecting that a CCleaner run has caused this anomaly.

    - The System Tools no longer appear in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Try go to your program files, delete the Nvidia Corporation folder.
Run CCleaner(if you don't have just download from www.ccleaner.com).
    I assume you have now.
So, after deleting the Nvidia folder from Program Files.
Then, open CCleaner, click Registry tab. Scan for issues then fix all issues found.
    Restart the laptop. Done.

    I appreciate your advice.

Unfortunately, your instruction has not solved the issue. I also deleted C\Nvidia\SystemTools -> CCleaner, which did nothing but cut out failure pics #1 and #2, while the rest of the process remained the same.

LOL. It does cut out the 1st and 2nd problems. It is not totally useless. XD
Maybe you should try to run CCleaner on Safe Mode too.
After that, install your Nvidia System Tools again.

    Take notes:
C:\Nvidia\SystemTools is the files(extracted from the setup) needed to install Nvidia System Tools. It can be delete safety after you install Nvidia System Tools.

Or you can use Vista or Win 7 manager. It deletes each and every files, folders, registries and settings.

Good news, the problem has been resolved.

    Steps-

    1.
    Uninstall video drivers
    Reboot in Safe Mode

    2.
    Delete these folders:
    C:\Users\*User Name*\AppData\Local\Nvidia Corporation
    C:\NVIDIA\SystemTools
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Nvidia Corporation

    3.
    - In the start menu, run regedit from the Start Menu
    - Perform a search for ntune and delete all entries; run a search for nvidia, delete all associated with System Tools.
    - Open CCleaner -> Tools -> Uninstall; Highlight Nvidia Performance, select Delete Entry

    4.
    - Run Driver Cleaner Pro / Driver Sweeper
    - Via CCleaner, scan the registry for errors; fix

    5.
Restart. GPU driver and Nvidia System Tools should now install with no issue.

Thanks to all of you. Each little tidbit was a piece of the larger puzzle.

I also ran into this problem but I was getting a slightly different error in relation to not being able to apply transforms.

I think Ntune problems can be caused when you use a 3rd party Driver cleaning program after uninstalling your GPU drivers. When you do the clean up it is possible to accidentally remove details or keys related to Ntune causing it to fail on reinstallations.

I fixed the problem now by removing every single trace of Ntune in the registry and User data using the instructions from this thread as a guide.

    Thanks.

Can try Windows Installer Cleanup, we would use it at Dell to clean up the mess new computer users sometimes make installing and un-installing programs. Doesn't pick everything up though. :(

I'm 100% positive that CCleaner is what's done it to me, as I've only used the program twice, and the problem occurred both times.

Ntune, or any nvidia overclocking tool made by nVidia causes a nvoclk64.sys error for me. I have read that Ntune is one of the most problematic pieces of software.

If CCleaner is causing it what part of its actions are doing so? Registry clean? If it is the junk clear out then I wonder which check box is the cause.

Do you use Driver Sweeper at all?

Actually, all you need to do is uninstall NVIDIA Performance/System Update/System Monitor *before* you uninstall the drivers; it's always worked for me.

Ccleaner doesn't affect my System Tools installation, but I've never run it between the driver and system tools uninstall.
