I was just browsing Nvidia's site to download the 304.79 driver and noticed that a new version just came out.
So here you go; I'm running it now and it seems fine so far: Drivers | GeForce
Also here's the modded version from laptopvideo2go (didn't try these ones though): Geforce 306.02 - Modded - News - LaptopVideo2Go Forums

if im not mistaken they are DESKTOP drivers only. i just done the same search and it comes up with nothing for 6xx cards
yup, just double checked on my trusted nvidia page that i use and they are defo desktop drivers so DONT DOWNLOAD for notebooks.
could well mean we are on the cards for a iminant release for notebooks very soon
edit edit: notebooks are now up wahoo. will start my normal thread.
thanks for posting DaCM but if possible could you edit your post as they are defo desktop drivers you have posted. -
Well, I'm running it as I've decided to download it in the end and it definitely works on my laptop ^^.
Just check the supported GPU list on the site, only mobile ones are mentioned. -
yes its supported the gpu but they are defo desktop. i have no idea if they will cause problems or not.
the desktop driver you posted was 174mb in size and the notebook driver was 219mb in size.
just checked the page fully and at the bottom it does indeed say notebook support but why the diference in size of driver package between 680 and 680 notebook is beyond me. -
Yup, you found it first, kudos for that
I'll let others guinea pig this for now, as everything works for me at the moment. -
totally agree. kudos to DaCM
i always check first though as about 3 years ago there was a desktop driver release posted up as a notebook driver and it caused all hell of problems for owners with massive flame wars on here.
i still cant understand the difference in file size between the two nvidia sites
edit.
i reckon there was a typo on the nvidia page DaCM posted as when i first looked it said the file size was 174mb. it has now changed to the same as my page of 219mb
thanks nvidia for the confusion -

Verde drivers are for mobile platforms.
-
Anyway, as MrDJ is our 'official driver poster' on the forum, now that he has started his thread mods feel free to close this one and let's move over to his.
-
nope not at all. i was just about to delete mine.
only reason i brought it up was at the time the link you posted said 174mb and not 219mb. i checked my usual nvidia page and the 174mb was indeed desktop which were put up first.
as i said it was mot probably a typo on the nvidia page which was rectified. ill delete mine now -
Not to reopen this can of worms, but now that I think about it - you've got only yourself to blame if you fail to notice and install a wrong driver and mess something up. Though under these circumstances I can sure understand why it's better to be safe than sorry -
The Windows 7 64-bit download link o Nvidia.com was directing me to the 32-bit agreement/download. Here's the link for the 64-bit if anyone else was having this problem on Nvidia.com.
NVIDIA - Download Drivers -
this offers a very substantial boost to players of the TSW. improved my performance about 18% over 304.79
-
nvidia have fecked up and the 64bit drivers as advertised take you to the 32bit drivers download.
thanks for bringing this to our attention plancy. -

-
My guess - The Secret World.

I like these drivers:
Increase in fps for PS2
Can overclock again to high levels without crashing (all the 300 drivers seemed to become very unstable with ocing until this one)
Will test out more games later. -
Dark souls just freezed after 6 hours, but I'm not sure if this is driver's problem, didn't test it take long on the previous driver 305.67.
-
Eager to try these out asap, It's weird the PDF release notes do not have 680m mentioned in the supported notebook gpu section!
-
So after a quick edit i got it to install on my 680m.
Hoping theres a small bonus to Guild Wars 2 but i have yet to test it.
Sleeping takes priority.

The driver works great on my MSI GT70 with m680 card ...

UPDATE:
this issue with the wrong drivers downloading has now been reported to Nvidia and confirmed as a fault on their part.
they apologize and will get it rectified as soon as possible. -
I installed them, they seem to work great so far with limited testing. Minimal increase in 3dmark 06 and 11 scores.

How is everyone installing the drivers? I have seen several methods and I am bit confused as to which one is the best.
A- Driver sweeper then install new drivers
B- Uninstal old under add/remove programs then install new drivers
C- Install over old drivers
@_@ confused... -
-
im stickin with B. driver sweeper can cause problems as ive said before and installing over old drivers is just pointless when it only takes 30 seconds to go to add/remove programs and remove nvidia there
-
I checked the clean install check box, worked great.
-
I noticed no difference in Sleeping Dogs vs 304.79 drivers.
-
-
So far so good with my 680m.
edit: I take that back.Had several crashes in BF3 so far.
-
Did anybody try GW2 yet? -
Guild Wars 2 still runs perfect on my end. -
-
I downloaded the modded version of DOX @laptopvideo2go. Great performance boost in GW2, CS:GO and BF3. Definitely a keeper.

GW2 I am getting more consistent frames. It also seems to play a lot smoother to me.
I see a huge improvement in Witcher 2. I had some stuttering on my default drivers but now its running silky smooth.
I'll have to try BF3 when I get home from work.
@ HTwingnut how did the game crash on you? I would like to replicate it today. -
i have had 0 crashes with 306.02 in the witcher 2, the secret world, skyrim, and both batmans

I played Bf3 with the new drivers for a good 30 mins on operation firestorm. No crashes. Game runs like butter on default ultra settings. Any suggestions on what other maps to try?
-
I've noticed rage (game I'm currently finishing up) seems smoother. I wasn't expecting or looking for it so I doubt it's placebo.
-
Anyone noticed some artifacts with DayZ (Arma II) with this driver or was that always happening and I just haven't played enough to figure it out.
-
My Dayz plays like crap, no clue why tho. Im capped at around 40 fps and it drops to 20 in big cities :S
-
Just installed the new drivers over the old ones using clean install
3Dmark11 went from P6120 marks to P6177marks, no OC
Guild Wars 2 smoother now, averaging 50-60 FPS (previously 45-55)
Looks like a winner! -

*nm i just reread your message. thanks. -

Is anybody having problem with optimus with these drivers? Installed it yesterday and everything runs fine, but the nvidia card always seems to be on.
