MAKE SURE you already install Intel graphic driver first before proceed.
First open up device manager, look under 'Display Adapters' and open up the nvidia GPU (or standard display adapter if you haven't install it). Open the properties for it, under details tab select Hardware ID as below. Check first attached picture. Note the highlighted numbers.
Now extract the installer, if you already try to install but it failed to update the driver, the folder is defaulted at C:\NVIDIA. Open it up, look under display driver folder, full link is C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\270.51\Vista 64-bit\International\Display.Driver. There is plenty of INF file inside there but you need to only edit 4 of them, they are:
nvac.inf
nvam.inf
NVLT.inf
nvsm.inf
Remember the highlighted Hardware ID mentioned earlier? In my case the first one is '1050'. Open the INF file mentioned above and use F3 to find the '1050'. Once you find it you edit the number after SUBSYS_ to match the one on your laptop, as pictured (mine is 055A1025). Do it on all four INF file mentioned. Edit every '1050' SUBSYS_ you can find
Run the installer again (C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\270.51\Vista 64-bit\International) run setup.exe. The installer should now recognize your card and begin installing the driver.
On a side note, I also download it for my desktop GTS 250. But performance difference in Crysis 2 is not that much, maybe none at all. I guess its cater for Fermi architecture more. For those who sad there isn't GTX 485M driver, don't have high hopes for newer driver, as it and my GTS 250 desktop are basically the same thing (G92b based) except for clockspeed in laptop is obviously lower.Attached Files:

Thanx Sir nX3NTY for your big help i've already installed the 270.51 driver.
sir when i go to dxdiag my display driver uses Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
memory 818mb. and when i change the prefered graphics in nvidia control panel to high performance nvidia processor the only thing that change in dxdiag display is the approx memory 818mb to 2704mb but the display name is intel(hd) graphics family. thnx again sir -
Hey guys, has anyone tested this on a GTX 280m? Preferably with Windows Vista x64 SP2? Because the entire 26x.xx driver family has been RIDICULOUS with me. I'm still using the 258.96 drivers so that I don't get crashes every few minutes and crashes for no reason (CS: Source STILL manages to crash my video card if I play it for a while though... been doing that since 186.03).
I REALLY don't feel like installing new drivers only to go through another rollback. I'd enjoy some feedback about it otherwise =) -
-
thnx again nX3NTY your god at helping people.
-
sir nX3NTY what will i put in prefered graphics in nvidia control panel ? is it auto or high performance nvidia processor.. thnx

I cannot install these drivers, when i launch the instller and get to the install point, it just shows the list of the component right away with "not installed" beside them. The driver was modded. The laptop is n53sv with 540m

Sir pls. help
how to know the temperature of videocard gt540m
when im playing crysis 2 the air coming out of the laptop is hot im using the 270.51 beta driver. and what is the normal temp thnx -
-
-
no, what i meant to say is that when the driver is suppesed to install, it just shows m the list of the components right away with "not installed" next to each one, and nvidia instller failed at the top. once again, the vid card is 540m and the drivers were modded.

Hi guys, I'm currently using a Acer Aspire 4750G with a Nvidia Optimus GT460M on board. I've tried modifying the inf files but have been unsuccessful in installing it. The installer would give a "NVIDIA Installer Failed". This is on Windows 7 x64.
Could anyone help me on this?
The hardware id I got from device manager is as follow:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DF4&SUBSYS_05071025 -
Try using the modded INF file from LV2G.

Already tried. Gave a NVIDIA Installer failed error

Downlod the latest 270.61 WHQL from nvidia. You shouldn't get any more errors
