Goddammit this driver broke Crysis 2, again.
The game refuses to run full screen in DX11 no matter what I do. The most I've seen is that it switches to true full screen for about a second, and then reverts to windowed mode. Had the same issue when updating from 331.65 to 331.82, but thankfully the alt+enter hack fixed the problem. Now it doesn't anymore. UGH -
this is a game ready driver mainly for Watch Dogs at the select few that nvidia say it will help:
3840x2160 (4K)
Call of Duty: Ghosts
F1 2013
Hitman Absolution
Sniper v2
DiRT 3
Just Cause 2
Team Fortress 2
2560x1400
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Sleeping Dogs
Hitman Absolution
Thief
World of Tanks
Just Cause 2
Team Fortress 2
StarSwarm
if you havnt got watch dogs then i would revert back to whichever driver ran best for crysis 2 -
Well I pre-ordered Watch Dogs and definitely plan on playing it. Maybe I'll rollback to the old driver and see how it jives with Watch Dogs. If there aren't any significant problems I'll probably stick with what was working before (331.82).
The random borking of old(ish) games and SLI compatibility issues are two main reasons why I don't bother with updating the driver unless I absolutely had to. -
I downloaded this yesterday when I saw the update pop up on my comp and today when I turn it on I'm getting this "Mircosoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" pop up and won't let me connect to the internet. Would this have something to do with the download? My computer was working fine yesterday before I did this

Alright, benched 337.88 vs. 334.89.
All apps tested were DX11 except for Metro 2033, which I ran in DX9 mode.
Biggest performance gain came in Hitman: Absolution, which was unsurprising given the CPU-bound nature of the game, especially its built-in benchmark. I also received an equally perceptible increase in smoothness in BF3 64-player multiplayer especially in min FPS, but unfortunately I could not bench it for obvious reasons, and the singleplayer timedemo I used is much more GPU-bound.
As expected, Metro 2033 performed identically to my previous driver. Wasn't expecting any improvement in DX9 games anyway since the new performance drivers primarily optimize for DX11, but had to satisfy my curiosity.
Shader Cache did not improve load times for me at all in DX10/11 games, so I guess I'm bottlenecked by my storage more than anything else.
337.88 benchmarks were run at my previous 24/7 overclock of 1120 MHz core, 1125 (4500) MHz memory @ stock Vcore (1.000V) for consistency as I had used these same settings when I benched 334.89 a few months ago. I've now bumped that up to 1150 MHz @ 1.050V which was enough to net me P5829 in 3DMark 11 and put me (as of this writing) in 1st place on the leaderboard. In fact, I currently occupy the top 8 spots.
334.89 337.88 +/- Battlefield 3 64.2 67.8 +5.6% Hitman: Absolution 49.6 57.7 +16.3% Metro 2033 (DX9) 54 54 0% Sleeping Dogs 81.6 85.4 +4.7%
334.89 337.88 +/- P 5531 5711 +3.3% Graphics 5668 5838 +3% Physics 7589 7557 -0.4% Combined 3485 3736 +7.2%
334.89 337.88 +/- 573 578 +0.9% kolias, TBoneSan, LanceAvion and 2 others like this. -
anyone care to make a comparison between this and 337.50 beta?
