they started this a couple of years ago.
for certain AAA games they bring an updated driver out which is meant to help specifically for those games but it wont hurt if you still load it (but then it might).
mixed reports of better fps and then reports of worse fps.

pure trial and error now a days.

load it. if its good keep it and if its crap roll back to previous.

just for example. in the last 20 releases theres been 5 game ready drivers. just click search > http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-uk

I heard that Shadow of Mordor uses SLI by default this driver, but Dead Rising 3 does NOT have a SLI profile at all.

Also, we don't have DSR capability yet; it's only for desktop users.

Totally expected. If a game is not AFR friendly, there won't be an SLI profile, unless the developer patches it. Nvidia has said this time and again. Lack of SLI support is not entirely the green team's fault. DR3 was an XB1 exclusive that was never intended to be on PC, hence the AFR unfriendly rendering techniques used. And since the game is probably not selling well enough to receive long-term support, we can consign DR3 to the PC gaming hall of shame once and for all.

I fully expect this recent trend of extremely poor multi-GPU support to continue given the massive budget, risk-averse AAA paradigm if consoles are the lead platform. Unless, of course, Nvidia and AMD beef up their respective developer relations programs (read: throw more marketing dollars at devs and publishers). But then this segments PC gaming into red team/green team even more, which sucks, just like GameWorks sucks. It's a really sad state of affairs right now.

in the next driver we will get dsr support for notebooks. How much is the performance impact with dsr(50-70% or is it even more and depends if the dsr resolution is higher)? Is dsr just for 4K resolution which downsamples to 1080p or i can also put 1440p or some other higher resolution?
