I don't even think you need to bother with these. GeForce Experience has an update check. ;)

Yeah, GFE is extremely bloated. Adds a bunch of different startup items and background processes which consume RAM and CPU cycles and increase boot time. I already have MSI Afterburner for recording and I don't need no stinkin' automatic driver updates or game optimization.

Should I install this in order to see if it fixes the texture streaming issues? Tempting.

Too many buildings in UC Unity are being loaded in with awful textures, eve on max settings. It looks like stuff that they don't expect you to be able to see, but clearly the engine is getting it wrong. That and the crowds being janky for me with up close LOD pop in.

Got cpu throttling with this driver. (I am in High performance mode and don't have heat issue). This launching heaven benchmark with cpu monitoring, and i can see my cpu (4900Mq) goes to 1Ghz with some drop at 798Mhz ... ouch
On game same scenario causing huge drop in Fps ...

    My hardware (see signature)
    Os: Win 8.1 64bit
same issue on 344.60 and 344.48
issue doesn't exist on 344.11... (some infrequent drop at 3Ghz but almost @ 3.6 Ghz)

On both 344.48 and 344.60 I notice no CPU throttling... not even when livestreaming. I think there's some other problem with your PC. Have you tried using Throttlestop or seeing if HWiNFO64 says you're getting throttling?

Yep throttlestop make nothing and hwinfo64 confirm this strange behavior without overheat.
Maybe you are not affected because you haven't got optimus on your laptop !?

That's true, maybe a combinaison of multiple factor ... hate when i don't found what can cause the problem ... i hope this not hardware related ...

Can you explain that? ThrottleStop can usually detect and fix problems like you have described. Post a screenshot of how you have ThrottleStop setup if you want some help.

Make sure BD PROCHOT is not checked, check Set Multiplier and set that to the highest value and remember to click on the Turn On button. Use version 7.00 since it has more features for the 4th Gen CPUs.

Ok, Unclewebb, i apologize, i use Throttlestop like a noob (just launching the application and clicking the Turn On button).
I will read carefully your guide and follow your advice.
I will report my result here ... Thank you for your help

It's much better when the tool is correctly configured ...
I regret the old time when cpu had only a bus frequency and a multiplier ;)
My cpu don't throttle anymore ... thank you

    Thanks octiceps.

Too many users continue to depend on the most common monitoring tools that only report MHz and don't give you a very good idea of what your CPU is really doing internally.

Here are two examples of different types of CPU throttling. Check out the Super Pi 1M times and it is completely obvious that the CPU is running like a slug.

Now have a look at the Super Pi time when the CPU is allowed to run at its full Intel rated speed.

    Full Speed

Night and day difference in performance but CPU-Z reports pretty much the same thing whether the CPU is running properly or running like crap. Review sites continue to ignore throttling problems and continue to post CPU-Z screenshots like they actually mean something. When a CPU is being throttled internally, the CPU-Z reported MHz can be completely meaningless.

Tonrac - Glad to hear that your laptop is running better now. Maybe Nvidia needs to use some better tools before releasing their new and improved drivers.

I guess I got lucky; my CPU runs at 100% Cmod and Chip without turning on throttlestop.

I need to try and set up throttlestop properly and see if that's my issue. I used it the other day but nothing seemed to improve directly, then again, I had no idea how to configure it and just checked most of the boxes and set things to 100.

EDIT: You say to set multiplier to the highest value. Mine says 63 T but won't go any higher. However, if I click 'down', it drops to 38 and then won't let me go back up. Seems like the 'up' arrow isn't working. Any idea what my actual highest multiplier should be? Specs in sig.

Use Xtu and set the clock speed and power settings you need for overclock stability. You can then use these settings in Trottlestop. :)
